I would be more concerned about the chemicals then the fleas. A few good house spiders and a good doggy shampoo will get the puppies clean again. When you are out horse back riding you will most likely pick up a few more fleas, seems to be a never ending process all summer. I have a big house spider that I left in the living room, I can see him up in the corner, as long as I can see him it is ok..... I do have some wolf spiders too, they come in the house every summer to eat the bugs running across the floor. The wolf spiders do not make a spider net, they are preditary hunters that only come out at night when I sleep. I do clean the scrub the house, but I leave the spiders that I know are OK alone to do their job. I don't even use a flea collar cause I don't want to snuggle the puppies on the bed with that on. I clean the throws on the beds and couches every day, and that helps lots too.

I really hate the mosquitoes and they are worse than I have seen in quite a few years. I did break down after constant bitting, and used some Off on my pant legs, hate to spay that on the skin, better to spay the long pants and shirts instead.....

If is is not the mosquitos, then it is the bitting sandflies!!

I have an Acer touch screen tablet. I just touch the bottom of this box and go to more reply options. I use the "bluetooth feature" and send the pictures from cell phone to tablet for free (no air time). Then the pictures that are stored on IPad Gallery can be retrieved ....

Touch "more reply options"

Touch "choose file"

Touch " attach file"

Wait for file to attach....

Then add another picture if you wish,

Advance uploader works the same, sometimes that helps too... :)

HTH that happened to me in the bathtub pond that I have and I just put a piece of floating board in there in case it were to happen again. I had a baby bunny fall in and a robin :frown:
Not sure if a birdbath would help but it can't hurt. I don't think the birds are smart enough to just use the birdbath tho. There will prolly be some who will still use the ponds. Just provide some kind of a way out and that should work.

I've never had a bird in either of my ponds yet, knock on wood. I see them all the time on the edge of the waterfall where they can stand on the rocks and drink the water, and in the stream. But, it's probably just a matter of time before they lean over too far into the pond. I also have bogs, and they can stand in the water there and drink ... when they can find the water, that is. They are presently about 100% (goldfish bog) and 75% (koi pond bog) covered with plants. LOL

Colleen and HTH, I agree, I hate to have to resort to the foggers, but they are very safe if used properly and to directions. I put a huge tarp over the 2 aquariums that are side by side, and then you have to shut off the pumps. I also had to shut off the AC for the day, turned off everything else that was running except the fridge. Supposed to leave the house for 2 hours, then air it out for another 2 hours. I left for 8 hours, no need to air it out, just turned on the AC and there is absolutely no smell whatsoever. Once the stuff dries, it's odorless. The male dogs that I used the chewable tablets that are supposed to kill worms, heartworms, fleas and ticks seem to be working better than the Advantage for the pregnant dog, darn it! She is still scratching, and I see fleas. I washed all the dog bedding in hot water before fogging, then laid the blankets, bedding, etc. out to get the fogged chemicals on them to help keep them flea-free. I can't imagine how these fleas are still on her! I've heard vet office personnel say, "Are the fleas biting and attached to your dog?" What? No, they are running around, making her scratch! "Well, then the Frontline is doing it's job." What? Really? I thought it was supposed to kill fleas that touched it, and repel others? Guess not!

Colleen when I hit more reply options or whatever, where it says attach files, the choose file button is shaded out. It won't let me push it :( Stupid button lol. And advanced uploader requires flashdrive, which iPad doesn't have unless it's jail broken. Maybe I'll try photobucket again.

I see you guys talking about fleas? Pet smart has a pill you can give them, it only lasts 24h, but it kills everything that bites them. When my momma cat had kittens the babies ended up cover in flea of course. The pills are safe for kittens over a certain weight ( 1 lb I think maybe ). So before I gave the kittens away, I gave mamma and the kitten ea. a pill and it seamed to work prEtty well.
