Life is good to me these days, my health is good and my sweet hubby is all better and looking so good! All the wounds have healed so nice and the side effects of radiation treatments now a bad memory. We had a nice long walk along the river road, with the puppies. Now my husband is much stronger and life is getting back to normal once again, and he is going back to work tomorrow part time, we will see how that goes, cause I don't want him to overdo it. :) I am so very lucky to have him alive and I sure have alot to be thankful for.

Big Lou, I am thinking of you, wishing you well and so very glad to hear Cathy is watching out for you!

sissy ... hows the taxes comming? You may get a big break on your taxes, we just filed our taxes and for the first time in years I am going to get money back!! So is my hubby! Never in 20 years have we got money back from our taxes! We got the money back cause my hubby was sick and we had lots of expenses. I don't know how the taxes work in the US, but here in Canada the Tax Man is going to fork over the money! :) :)

4:11 AM, head still hurting since seizure so I took more Advil to see what happens.

Hey, great progress by the contractor yesterday. A couple of dozen flowering perinals planted. Among them were new lilies for Cathy's Lily bed. They started sanding up the old stain off of the driveway. The machine is a glorified floor buffer using industrial diamond tipped pad. Poor young man running the machine really got a workout. After six hours the pad broke with less than half the driveway sanded. Rental company claimed the pad would last 6 months! Boy, the contractor was not pleased. I'm sure the rental guy was going to get an ear full. Work continues today if it is doesn't rain, 80% percent chance.

We are trying to refurbish the big deck without spending much. Contractor took a loss since his solution was so darn ugly hench rejected once it was put in place. We gave him $200 for his efforts to show we appreciated him trying. Yes, I am a sap yet good will goes a long way. A welding guy to come over today to give an estimate for custom fabricated braces.

Maybe this next task will help you one day. Years ago we purchased a patio table with four rotating chairs. It is well made with some type of synthetic seat and back. Every couple of years we simply spray paint the set to give it new life. The frames are heavy duty aluminum so no rust. I am sure you know how expensive patio furniture is so this is a real money saving project. Wood deck/patio furniture does not last long here.

Guess I will try to go back to sleep now. Head is not hurting as much.

Finally heading back to Ohio one more time to pick up our taxes. We had our estate lawyers cpa do them as I didn't know where to start. Dads estate will finally be wrapped up this week. It's been a year now. Since Dad helped out with so many projects here, we will be using the money for a lot of work on the house. 1st contracter should be here Tuesday (Lowes for the deck) then 2 more after that.

Wish I was going to be getting money back! We weren't happy about paying $450. last year and now looking at a 5 figure number! Oh well, still have money to do major renovations but it's still going to be hard to write that check.
I'm going to be taking a lot of before and after pics so will post them as the projects move forward.

Darn, our rental agent just called yesterday and said our wonderful tenants of several yrs are moving out. Bought a house of their own. The good ones always do that. Glad they found a nice house but sorry to see them go. Now we start over and hope we don't get any losers like we have in the past. Wish we could sell the place but not now w/ the economy still crappy.

Here's an idea. Turn your rental home into a halfway house for newly released ex-convicts, drug users/dealers, prostitutes and pimps. Hot damn, won't the neighbors love y'all!. ( a really, really big wise ass grin )
