Finally, I get to post on this thread!

I used to eat Ho Hos and apple pies and absolutely loved them. I can't remember why, but I stopped eating them when I was in my 20's. They do get a lot of bad press, but nutritionally, they're no different from other types of junk we stuff into our bodies.

I liked Ho Hos because of the smell, the crack of the outer chocolate shell when you bit into them and the soft mushy interior. I can still smell those things.

I liked the apple pies because of their flavor. There's nothing quite like it. Can't say they really tasted like apples, just sweetness, lots of sugar and what seemed like candied apple inside. I knew it probably wasn't good for me when I ate one but I was young at the time and pretty much heedless of what I put into my body. I introduced my kids to it once but they didn't like it!

And Wonder bread, ya I had a lot of it. It was actually a step up from the crappy store brand white bread I used to buy.

The bakery where I work at still makes hundreds of loafs of fresh bread, most all from scratch. Some bakerys are baking bread from frozen dough and not fresh dough, so that may make it "crappy". But at the Real Canadian Superstore bakery, we still make the white and the whole wheat bread from scratch, and you can't beat the taste, its hard to go back to "commercial bread" after that. I love my job, happy to work there and like all my "bakery buddies". :)

You may not like that mogsie as Mirka would have your head stuffed . I never understood this doomsday stuff and to this day think it is just some silly stuff coming from someone who hopes to make a name for himself ,I guess the name would be stupid .I guess growing up on an organic farm and my mom making everything from scratch made me this way .She hated processed food

pics of what a stent can do to open an artery first pic is before.Just amazing as before this he would not have lived through a surgery to repair the damage and after years of trying new stuff to make a stent this one was just approved last year and lookks like a spring in a pen .

ahh i dont think those jackets will go on sale price colleen, while a was looking for jackets, i read that sir ranulph feinnes (68 yrs old) is doing an antartic crossing next year when it will be their winter, so it will be 24 hrs darkness, and an extreme clothing company called PHD is kitting him out, so i had a look at their website and they have a jacket that is not recommended for any form of physical activity in temps warmer than -30 celsius ( -22 fahrenhiet), it is too insulating and is intended to maintain body temp when relevently immobile at temps of -60 c (-72 f), now thats a warm jacket !!!
was just reading it will be a world record if ranulph completes it, temps expected to fall to -90 c (-130 f)

A stent is used in the arteries going from the heart (I think that's right, or is it the veins?) when there is a blockage. It opens up the artery so blood can flow through freely. Saving tons of people's lives yearly! I think it's like a tube that is inserted into the artery, after the blockage is removed.

A stent is a small spring like thing that they push into the artery of the heart to open up the artery .They go up throught the artery in your leg to your heart microscopically with a small balloon on the end and the stent is inside the balloon and pushes plaque out of the way in the artery as it is inflated and then as it is pulled out it pulls the spring like thing that is called a stent and it keeps the artery open and allows blood and oxygen to flow back into the heart .Without this little miracle you would die .i watched the surgery from an obeservation window .They used the paddles 3 times to bring him back on the operating table .The first time they used the paddles was in the emergency room and the second time was in the elevator headed to surgery .This stent is made of platimum and chromium and is made to last and not fail .They have made stents out of lots of things over the years but they think this is the best combonation of metals .

You have to carry a card with you and have a medic bracelet and he is regestered and went on the sight to check out his stent and after putting in the numbers it shows all the info .it is like a gps to keep track of it and provide info on it .If you take apart a pen and look at the spring that makes the pen tip retract ,it looks like that but smaller .I told him you can't hide from me any more . Amazing medical technology these days .Without this people that have this problem normally die with in hours after getting to the hospital .He is on blood thinners so nothing blocks the stent and it has to be monitored so nothing blocks it and also he has to watch so he does not have a stroke now .High risk for stroke or another fatal heart attack now has to be watched .
