The Good Banter Thread

Thanks I will..we live beside a creek, there's a hardtop road between us, but also a submarine bridge where our road starts. As long as I get out and back, no worries, LOL I think the worst winds are suppose to be when the front comes thru a little later. Looks like the rain is "training" right up the mountains, and we are at the base of the mountains, about 15 minutes from the W.Va. line

I watch Channel 9 Wash. D.C. interactive radar. Put it in motion and can tell exactly what's coming and what. A lot coming right up the mountains bordering Va and W.Va.

We weren't too far from you last summer. We were at Phillpot and Smith Mountain Lakes...Looks like you have some pretty hard rain in a cell coming up from N. Carolina, might be what you're getting now

sissy, are you water logged? Looks like you are really getting it? We have 2 7/10 so far, but the wind isn't bad. I think the front is still coming thru W.Va

I think we are in the clear, colder are coming in a little later. Creek is up, but that's a good thing.

I think the bulk of it is over close to Richmond now. There's a couple blobs coming thru with the front, but should be pretty much done.:)

OK, I'm a guppy ... what in the world is a "submarine bridge"??? Sounds like something that goes UNDER the creek/river or whatever!

LMBO Sissy, it doesn't float! CE, it's like a low water bridge and when the creek gets high it goes right over it. for the longest time it was just concrete with culvert pips, but some years ago, they built another one, this one has side rails. the old one didn't, and if you tried to cross it in high water, you went off into the creek. Or as we call it "crick" :)

just teasing  .Yeh they call them cricks too and we still have some of those culvert pipes and when the road floods you have no clue where to go .Actually there is a bridge in NJ near little egg harbor that is a floating bridge ,it has floaters under it and is chained to the road on either side .I won't go over it in a car or walking it moves to much for me .It is on one of the inlets .

I don't think I would like that...nope...We are getting a little more rain, are you clearing up yet? I'm sure we have this thread, to just talk about anything and everything. But hey, it's all relative, right?
