I put the snake away around the pond and hope he takes a hike somewhere else .I don't like snakes and they don't like me .Mike is coming over tomorrow and said also if you put mouse traps around the pond you can get them to go away .But don't want to harm frogs and with my luck I would catch me .Thing is if he gets caught in one then what do I do with an angry snake ,so no mouse traps

I have not seen any snakes, but have also noticed the ##'s of frogs decreased after they laid all the eggs. I think they take off for other ponds. I found a pickerel frog on the other side of my house from the pond. We have been wet enough they can take off looking for other waters.

It has stuff that smells like mothballs and is supposed to burn them if they slide over it so they stay away or supposed too .I just bought it to put in the lawnmower shed because they were going in there .

Thanks sissy, just wondering and remind me that despite our cool, wet weather here I need to stay put living here cuz I don't like the idea of dealing w/ all those critters that might be out to get me!

I think the only reason they come around here is because my neighbors pile there garbage up and don't take it away for a month or two .That draws mice which draws snakes .Some of the times when they finally take it away it takes the truck and there trailer piled high to take it .

Now I wouldn't like that one bit sissy. Not only mice could be attracted but the rats will come! I think that is a health issue for your area health dept. to take care of before things go bad.

mike checked and he thinks the snake just came for a drink at my pond ,so now have to add to my yarden with a snake drink thing in the ground a little and shallow for them to keep them away from the pond .When they eat mice they need water to help them digest the mouse .Gosh butterfly mud baths ,bird baths and now snake bath what next .So my next project is a snake drink bath .I have an old garbage can lid and it should be shallow enough and the lip is smooth so it should work with a small dig out that should keep blacky from visiting again to my pond hopefully .But Mike did say if he finds no mice he will eat the frogs but most times will not bother fish unless really hungry ,sorry I draw the line at buying him mice .He also has to get the mice before one eyed gets it .

hey said I draw the line there   He will just have to be faster than the one eyed owl and it amazes me he can get them so easy .I put quilt batting for one eyed on top of the shed and see one eyed is tucking and primping it into his nest and i am amazed at how big and fat he is .I will have to sign him up to weight watches soon . He is so skittish though and afraid he will fly into a tree and break his neck .He seems to be used to certain things I do but if a stranger comes around he seems to act funny .I always put food out for him on top of the shed and make sure there is fresh water .Think he may like fruit and veggies to much .He does love pecan sandy cookies
