I just noticed that my bowl lotus has a bud!!! Out of the 4 I bought, all 4 died, the lady replaced 3 of them, one with a bowl lotus, and that is the only survivor. I sure wish I could find my lotus seeds. Have my hacksaw in the house ready to score them, but can't find the seeds.
Hope your lotus waits for you to get home so you can take lots of pics and show them to us! Sounds like it's going to put on quite a show there in your lotus tub.

Down in south florida, they like this neighborhood we are in, always wandering around. You can walk up pretty close to them, not bothered by the people that live here.

They really kind of cute, once you look at them again from a different angle. They look like a cross between a chicken and a duck sort of... Hey what's a vacation? Have not been on one for twelve years, don't like to leave the puppies or the pond. We do go the the Cypress Hills where they have a real nice lodge that allows dogs too, in the winter when the snow makes everything extra pretty up there. Other than that, Poppy would need me, can't bear to leave Poppy and Bear, they were born under the bed and have never left me except when Poppy got fixed and then I cried my eyes out at the puppy hospital, they must have thought I was crazy... maybe I am?

My little one is with us, sleeping right next to my leg right now. The pond I can watch via the net. Can't touch or feel it but can see it.

Funny looking ducks!
Hey, I noticed my bowl lotus has 1 larger bud, and 2 more smaller ones. I'm so excited. Have no idea how long it will take for them to open, but I'll be patiently waiting, camera in hand. Hope they are pretty!
BTW, I found some on Ebay for only $1.99 for 20 seeds, 4 different colors of lotus. We'll see if any of the seeds are viable, but they claim they are "fresh and viable". Coming from China. LOL Free shipping, so I bought 2 different sets, will have a total of 8 colors, if any of them grow for me. Got yellow, light pink, dark pinnk, white, blue, purple, red, and pink/white. Can't wait to get them (probably end of month if I'm lucky) and try my hand at starting the seeds ... since I have misplaced my other seeds I bought back in March.

Make sure they are hardies ce, I saw some that you need to keep above 16c i.e. 60 degrees F. So you might need to bring inside for the winter.
