j.w. is that possibly a barberry bush? and it's huge if it is! Were just starting to get good blooms in our yard I'll have to get some pics up too. Significant other works at a greenhouse after his real job (for fun money) and brings home oodles of plants all the time!
Also, just wondering just how deep everyone puts there lillies in their ponds...as mine seem to sprout their shoots/leaves way up over the water before they decide to lay down on it...but hey at least it's growing...just no clue as to what kind it is until/if it blooms since it was the one that didn't have a tag on it at earl mays...guess it'll be a suprise!

I have 5 black lace elderberry don't the smell pretty .I like the way the flowers are a pink lace cap and I love that clematis do you remember what variety it is

The Clematis is called Duchess of Edinburgh and needs minimal pruning. It's a group 2 or B kind whichever way you call it. Takes sun or part shade and gets 4 - 6" flowers. Gets 6 - 10ft tall depending on your climate. Mine stays on the shorter side cuz we are cooler temps.

Yes love the Black Lace's flowers and foliage

My water lilies are on a ledge about 18" deep but you can keep lowering them slowly as they grow till they are sitting on the bottom of your pond if you like cuz the pads will just grow longer to reach the surface.

as I planted things here, I took one those big drawing pads and drew out the land and house and then as I added things ,I gave them code numbers that matched the drawing on the plan and then wrote on another paper in the pad what each plant was and then put the plant tags in a folder with the number on it .This is the third house I did this with .My father taught me that when we had the farm so he could make sure he rotated his crops right and new what was planted where and when it was planted .If something did not grow well in that spot he would plant it somewhere else and if it failed there it did not get planted again .I think I have to find that climantis

I have a whole file system that I started whenever I got a new plant. I would look up on the net how to care for it etc. and put the tag w/ the photo of it in there. Trouble is I can't always remember what I filed it under, I mean like did I file it under flowers, shrubs or perennials, etc. That's why I couldn't find Barberry, didn't know what I filed it under. Looked under shrubs and perennials but not there so gave up. Good thing I have all you guys for backup
