Dave54... remember i dont run a outside pond but 4 - 5 months a year... basically June thru September, my outdoor pond costs me nothing during 8 months a year...no pumps...no aeration, no nothing. my fish are in the basement pond where there is basically nothing to coat or clog my media. theres no plants, no alge, just fish wastes that never see the inside of my biofilter. theyre netted out. and money is a big deal for me as well...i'm barely floating now. so if what i have does what it has to...its staying!!
