Your birdies are cute Colleen and looks like you got one thing done anyways!

The woman who wanted the bed called and left a message while I was out on my sunny walk and said she measured her small suv and said no way could she get that headboard in her car so I called the next person who wanted it and now waiting some more. At least I got my 2 hour walk in and didn't wait around for the first one. So here we go again.........this one said she had a truck tho so maybe a winner!

The birdies were mad for a while but now they are back to the eggs at the bottom of the cage. :)

It was a sure sign of spring at the river road today. There was a Canadian Goose on the road standing, waiting .... they all do this thing in the spring, they fight to get the best nesting spots in the trees, not far off from the road, and they fight over these spots in the early spring. yes I did say in the trees, dumb Canadian Geese do nest in the trees sometimes, and it looks strange to see a Canadian Goose nesting in the Cottonwood trees by the river! I will get a picture for sure next time, but I was far off and by the time I got the camera phone out it was gone. So you will just have to look at my birdies nesting on the bottom of the cage...... :)

So your birds are actually sitting on eggs right now Colleen? Do they ever hatch? My parakeets laid eggs before and one hatched but later died. Don't think they knew what to do w/ it after it hatched. Poor baby

Used to have lots of babies 10 years ago, but now the male is old and they still just like to "go thru the motion"! The male is twice the age of the female, she's hoping he crokes and then she said she wants a young guy! Ha ha ha!

Speaking of old, this tank I am taking apart is also 20 years old... seems like everthing around here is about 20 years old!!! This tank is a 29 gallon and I got a whole new 29 gallon replacement kit, new tank, better filter, light canopy, heater, ect for 124 dollars. Going to put it back on the stand cause that stand will last forever, and make it all nice and clean, get some new fish tank mates, all that was left in tank was an algae eater, millions of guppies, and a white catfish. Here is the mess I am working on right now...

Will post new tank when all up and running later tonight.... :)

Going to give the old tank away to someone, anyone, just get it out of the yard... will put a sign in back alley, please help yourself!

OK, the last post was the before, with the old fish tank, so I got a new 29 gallon to replace the 20 year old one, came with new canopy, pump & filter, heater, and new glass tank. After 20 years the glass can get brittle and be more prone to crack and the old tank had scratches, that even the poor Algae eater had a hard time getting algae off the glass cause the algae gets into the fine little cracks in the glass. Then the old canopy light was very old, and water corrosion damaged the cord on the light canopy. Then the old pump would make noise as the propeller in the pump starts to wear out over time and then you get noisy old fish tank that has water corrosion on the tank, filter, canopy, heater, evently it is best to replace after many years as Electrical pump and heaters get corroded and then you're more apt to get electrocuted!

Hubby will be happy, at first he may not notice and just think I "really" cleaned the fish tank or something... then he will see the new four red Platty fish and think I got new fish too. Wonder how long it will take him to notice that it is a whole new tank? Hubby comes home tomorrow...

Had to work this morning, then take the puppies to the park and make super for honey. My hubby came in and was tired after the treatments and had to lay down, and noticed that "tank was much brighter and cleaner" and saw the new fish. He's all happy that the fish look clean and he enjoys feeding them. I hope the platty's have babies, they are "live bearing" like guppies, no sticky eggs like goldfish or koi, they give birth to live babies ready to swim and eat. The platty's will keep the tank populated like guppies, some will get eaten by other bigger fish, but I should always have lots as they do have lot's of babies.

Sissy you could get that tank out and bring in some small goldfish from your pond for hubby. Fish are relaxing and keep hubby "tranquil" which is better for health, that's why they put them in hospitals and clinics', tanks your mind off things. It would be good for both of you. You can try other plant snips from your pond and see how it grows in tank. :)

The other guppy 10 gallon tank that I replaced last month with a new set up, and fresh frozen hornwort from the ice cold pond last month, is doing very well and you can see how the hornwort has grown very well under the incandescent canopy lighting. Hornwort grows better with incandescent lighting rather than the fluorescent lighting canopy, and it like's the heat that the incandescent bulbs give off.

Of course there is no shortage of guppies in that tank either!!

I thought about it colleen but there is no filter or anything and don't have the money right now to invest in it and I know I would need something decent sized and barely have the time for the pond right now or the house .I have been trying to get caught up and not really succeeding

That's too bad, wish I lived closer and I would come give you a hand and give you a filter, got lots of different aquariam stuff over the years, need to get rid of some stuff in the basement. I would give you wild guppies, hornwort and other stuff too, except my old fish ornaments, had some for my while life, since I was a kid!

Got go clean this tank next, will take half the water out and vacum the gravel a bit, not too much, don't watt to distub the very old Upsidedown Catfish. That Catfish is at least 23 years old, and still lives!!! He live in 27 gallon long tank with guppies, he eats some of the guppies too. The old house in that tank is cleaned by snails and there is a lifetime suppy of hornwort and Angle Hair weed. I only keep ceramic, clay, wood, lava rock and other natural stuff, Don't out any of the new "poly resin type" fish tank ornaments as they unnatural poly causes bad black and blue algae to grow on those surfaces, cause they are made of bad poly resin!

The upsidedown catfish swims upsidedown and lives in dark caves, and like the water on the soft side. :)
