Mmmm, those fountain grasses sure look good there, as they grow they will help shade the pond too, can they take a drink too out of the pond? I'm taking a drink right now, by the pond, coffee made from my very old General Electric coffee perker, made right here in Canada (Barrie Ontario), must be from the sixties cause the cord is made from real rubber, not plastic! The good old days, when things were made right here in North America! I flavored the coffee with crushed vanilla beans! Here have a coffee Sissy! :) :)

Thats my favorite coffee with vanilla in it and fresh vanilla even better .I put a couple of the fountain grass in pots and put them in an old wheel barrow thrillers ,spillers and fillers in it .gosh that coffee looks soooo good .I still have the one my mom had that sits on the stove and love to hear the sound of a real perculator that sound is better than any of these gurglers they sell now

All the other coffee perks I bought over the years are all in the garbage cause they quit working! Only the old stuff I get from garage sales are any good these days! We need to have more good quality stuff made in America, instead were filling the land fills up with junk and a record rate for sure!!

Here's the type of food I have been feeding the fish for years. This brand is low-glycemic formula puppy small breed for the smaller fish. You get a big bag for 16.99 that's super fresh, and just made, and made in Alberta. I feed the large five pound koi the larger kibble with no grains at all. It's very high quality dog food that has botanicals, farm fresh eggs, salmon, northern white fish, bison, etc. The large bag costs me about 75 dollars. The puppies don't eat as much cause without the grain, they are fuller longer and don't tend put on weight. Feed to the fish they love it! The very large koi will come half out of the water to eat it out of my hand! I think that they weigh at least five or six pounds each and they are VERY strong! They try to rip the fingers off my hand! I would go broke trying to feed them fish food that I don't believe to be as fresh or wholesome as this brand of puppy food. I never buy the seven year old puppies adult food either cause they would just eat twice as much to get the same full effect. I don't do low saturated fat so I would not feed the dogs low fat, cause I don't believe the low fat crap is better. I think people who eat low fat crave sugar and carbs to fill the void, I see this all the time with my friends.

Should you choose to feed your fish dog food as many others that I know do, you can find similar types of dog food made in your state or province that would also be just as good. I have never had water quality issues feeding this to my fish, they gobble it up very quickly and there is never any left over, unlike the fish food! I also have very large sedges that clean the pond very well, and I also have very good water movement and filtration. The fish also grow very big eating this, and they have good color as well, and have not seen any sick or dying goldfish or koi, so it has to be good! (Except for that tropical Tin Foil Barb, that I put in the pond when the water was still too cold, early this spring)

My friend who has koi feeds hers high quality dry cat food and they love it! I'd have to crunch it up some to use for my smaller goldfish tho.

I know years ago when I heard that people fed dog food to their fish I was shocked at first. But if you compare the ingredients and price, you will find that pound per pound, high quality dog food is better and cheaper. I get the large breed kibble for the big puppies and koi, cause two of my koi are so darn large that it seems like cruel and unusual punishment to make them chase the small tiny pellets! They can suck my whole finger or two down and then like dogs, they try to tear my fingers off my hand! Just look at that mouth, poor guy is always starved! One of these days I will figure out how to download video and you will see what I mean. :)

Those cute little flowers that look like pinwheels are Gazania Hybrid (annual). Got a six pack of them back three or four weeks ago for two bucks and cause they were so darn cute, I just had to have it! They only grow to six inches but they show so nice and open only when sun shining, close at night. :) :)

I gave some irises and other stuff away last week to this poor almost deaf neighbor, two doors down, who works so hard chopping big trees down cheap, and he planted them out front and gathered rocks like me to surround them. So the flowers are spreading and the gardening "bug" is spreading! :) :)
