That's no rating , if it was my pond i would cut my losses and use it all in the pond and order 8 oz . this is an insurance policy to give you years of TROUBLE FREE enjoyment. that or use the tiger paw from GAF AGAINST THE UGLIES AND USE THE FABRIC TO SOFTEN THE TIGER PAW

Not sure if you saw my previous post, but, according to the manufacturer, what I used so far (main waterfall areas) was a 6 oz underlayment. Both on bottom, and on top of the 45 mil liner. The boulders were placed last Saturday, so no way I can un do that. It took 8+ hours, mainly because of the hillside, rocks not staying put, sliding, etc. I definitely should have carved out even deeper a shelf to sit the framing rocks.

And now that the basin is dug and underway... it'd be impossible to access the slope.

For the basin, I will in fact use 2 layers of tiger paw, then my liner sandwich.

If only I'd known then what I do now. I would've purchased an 8 oz.

Well, as hard as I tried to leave some wrinkle in the liner while placing the boulders, I was just out inspecting everything, and one of the walls (under a cascade) is being pulled taut, by I guess a boulder downstream from the area. Must have happened when placing the boulder and it slid downward a bit, taking the liner with it.

Yet another thing I can't "un-do" now. Unless am not thinking clearly, the only thing I can do now is to make sure as I build the wall on that area with rocks, that I don't try to push them too far into the wall, which would then actually stretch the liner. My plan is to place some medium rocks along in front of the wall a bit, the find some thinner ones I can slightly lay back towards the wall, then lock in place with the spill rock above. The liner would still be taut, but hopefully not stretched to the point of failing.

Man o man, like @GBBUDD said earlier, I am indeed trying to build a Bentley my first time out (it's actually my 2nd time out, as I have built a smaller waterfall and stream some years ago), and now it's starting to bite me on the a**! Yet, no turning back now!

I'm just letters on the web it's your decision on how to go about your build..

We all make .mistakes just have to work past them . I'd think about if it does fail down the road to make the area easily accessible.

Is seeming our ofvthe question? Cut above the stretched area and seam a piece in giving it the stack its missing ?

Yup - it adheres. The pros have started doing bib liners with a layer of foam topped with underlayment.
I've searched all over YouTube, and have only seen bib liners done with the rubber liner. I'd really like to see it done, can you point me to where you've seen it?

Seaming isn't out of the question at all. I already have to seam at the bottom so the main stream will overlap into the basin. The problem I see is, if I make a cut along the wall, let's say in the center,... then since those two halves of liner then won't touch, I'd have to seam twice, once to adhere to the top piece, and again to adhere to the bottom section. If the seam overlap tape is typically 5", wouldn't the two separate seams run into each other?

Please point me to the part in your blog, and where on here are the stickies?

Yes, I've seen many bib liner videos, I was referring to using black foam in my situation, where I have an extra layer of underlayment over the vinyl, and if black foam would adhere to underlayment like it does to rubber liner. @Lisak1 was referencing some pros using underlayment and black foam as a bib liner.

I'm still trying to wrap my brain around how the heck to seam the liner on the too tight shelf wall. I would think that upon slicing through the taut liner, from left to right, I would wind up with an open area like this, instead of a straight line, no?

Then take a second piece and "seam" it all around the cut. Overlap at least 6" in all directions.

I would try to cut it open to the edge on at least one side place a board down that you'll use as a table like is show in how to seam

I really wish I could picture what you're saying. "Cut it open to the edge"?,.. you mean from left to right all the way to each edge of wall?

I still can't imagine the liner not gaping open after cutting it open. So their would not be a flat or straight edge to work with.

I could also see that open area wrinkling up causing all matter of difficulty. I mean, I get it, it won't be easy.. and I'm pretty sufficient in figuring things out,..but I'm very trepidatious about cutting through the liner,..and NOT being successful at seaming it back.
