Your progress is fantastic. I'm with Mike & Dr Dave, you will have to post a video when its up and running! I really like the way your rock is coming together!

Have not gotten a lot done with the streams.

But the bog is now closed in once I know where the water will stop when we fill it, the liner will be covered.

did the landscaping

Loaded our drain stream bed, it directs the water away from the pond, with pea gravel. I will be adding river rocks etc, to make it look like a wandering stream.

Then it hit 96 with index of 105 went pond floating on our floaty noodle

Awesome, Addy! Are those dwarf albertas I see on your hill? I can't seem to get them to survive dependably here in sun, it's just too hot where I am. Aren't you zone 6b, though?

Love the way you've combined color and texture in your landscaping.

Thank you for your compliment.

A zip code zone map says 6a-7a, so I don't really have a clue, lol. We are around 500 feet at our house.

A lot of plants put in, sore hands, lol. That was all grass and darn hard to mow. I also have two large (60ft x 60 ft) wildflower gardens, that I grow from seed every year. They are fun, you never know what flower will show up next. But they suffered this summer I did not water, don't want to push our well.

I go for perennials, to busy/lazy to replant annuals all the time.

Yes dwarf alberta's, we are zone 6-7, we drop a few times below -0 which makes us 6. Most of the time we are more around 7. They have been in 100 degree heat, 90+ record heat and sun all summer, dry weather, but I have all the plants on hoses. When first planted everything was watered daily, after a week or so, every two days, then dropped it to every 3 days. The alberta's were planted early May, we didn't start our digging until the end of april so that is close to when I put them in. The temperature spiked soon after I planted them.

I think they like to be kept moist, I also mulched heavily. They are doing fine, I read they like to have space around them o/w get red spider mites.

I picked the smaller ones at costco, they have a plant nursery (here) that runs from March till mid may. Great prices. The larger ones about two weeks later at home depot.
Around 59 per.

Good deal. With all that heat and sun, keep an eye on them. If you see small dead spots anywhere on them, check carefully for spider mites.

If you see them, you can spray the plant down with a solution of dish soap. Get a fine misting hose end sprayer, because if you see them on one, they'll be on others, and just go ahead and treat them all, soak 'em down.

For prevention, though, diatomaceous earth is awesome and cheap. I'd go ahead and get food grade.

Well pumps..........lol, honey and I had a debate on those, I wanted a dragon, he wanted a 3/4 hp pool pump. So I let him win this one, we got it cheap, he said he will concede defeat, nicely, if it does not work.

LOL and still busting butt. Most likely will just get a small pump hooked up this year, for the bog flow. Not going to get skimmer running this late, keep it dry for the winter.
