Everything looks so natural at your place, Addy. WOW!
Yep, those groundhogs from last year made their reservation to come back this year and grow their family once again. Opossums are so ugly they are cute. Saw one once, our rat terriers had her cornered in a log, and she had maybe a dozen babies clinging to her for dear life! Called my dog, and took him home. She was doing her best to move the whole family at once, I didn't want her to be disturbed. What's even sadder is when a mama possum gets killed on the road, and then you see 10 babies scattered around, sometimes several walking around aimlessly, not knowing what to do. Next time I see that, no matter if I'm on my way to work, I will figure out a way to pick up the babies and take them with me.

I would never harm them. I saw one once years ago, never see them during the day. This is the first time they have decided to eat the apple (a good apple no sleeping beauty apple)

Bet they visit at night when our trees are dropping the apples.

The purple flowers are those stepable plants, they handle being walked on and keep blooming most of the summer. Really like them, very low growth, seems to help control weeds because they are so dense. I am moving cuttings of them down to near the pond to try and keep some of the weeds down there under control. Let them spread with the creeping jenny.

The top water fall to the shubbie tank, almost done. Stole rocks from here and there in the yard to have enough to make it. The rocks used in the upper fall, the non wet ones are a lot of the mush maryland rocks, if they stay wet they turn into crumbled rocks, dirt. Good old shale mixed in our dirt, makes it real hard to dig.

The bottom water fall is similar, swiped rocks from under bushes, on paths to make it. Saves some bucks, better than buying a pallet of rocks.

Still need to use some foam to direct some of the water flow and anchor the rocks a little better. Right now a sneeze and some will head down the hill into the pond.

I've noticed lots of the small rocks I placed around the outside of the pond edge, have plants that grow over them, so not needed any longer. Retrieved quite a few that way. I bet you have TONS of rocks under all your beautiful plants, Addy. Love that waterfall, sooo natural looking. I am anxious to get my stream re-worked (lots of rocks to be pulled out of the bottom, as that is covered with algae, can't see the rocks anyhow ... DUH!) so that the edge looks more natural. You are so inspiring to others to create and re-create to get just the right look for each of us. :claphands:

Addy, what is the foam you are talking about?
I have old cans of the water fall foam (bought cheap off ebay, some are white some are black, i.e miscolored) I use that, sometimes have used the great stuff insulation foam, the door and window for small gaps, the real expanding stuff to fill under large rocks with gaps. It directs the water flow beautifully. It is not water proof but will direct the flow the way you want it to go. Less water going under the rocks, more going over them.

I made the rocks all stick together around the ponds with the Big Gap Crack filler (Great Stuff) from the hardware store. Same stuff as the pond stuff but cheaper and yellow colored instead of black. My rocks are all sandy or white and yellow colored anyway and it worked really good for me!

The rocks are glued to the outside wood frame of all three connecting ponds. I stuffed dried moss in the cracks for the finished touch, last picture from last year, with fresh black mulch, will have to get more soon .....

If you want it to stop water, no weeping, I use pl roofing compound, works great.

Wandered the yard, dug up plants here and there, ever greens, (two new cheap from costco) blue rug juniper creeps across the ground. Some ground covers, creeping jenny, sedums, stepables, a few flowers, rocks stole from different places in the yard and the new pond is sort of landscaped.

The fishing line is to stop the heron until I can get more of the fishing net. We have three that fly over every day. I know one day they will stop for a visit.

Moved 4 ornamental grasses to go on the back part of the slope. The apple tree reflects beautifully in the pond, but sure is dumping flower petals in the pond.

Love love love the colors, This bush is an ever green, beautiful red new leaves. Our poor liliac we dug up with the tractor, drug to the back yard and replanted.

The wild flowers on the hill are just starting to open.

Added some great stuff got the water to flow over the rocks instead of behind them. I used a ball valve to divert a small amount of water from the input into the bog. The ball valve is open maybe 1/4 of the way.

Love how your preform turned out addy! Wouldn't even know it was a preform and nice that you put your wheel chair and bear by it too. Your property, plants and flowers are all coming alive and so pretty now.

It sure doesn't look like you just finished it, it looks like it has been there for years already. You have such a knack with flowers and plants and so forth. I love the bear, maybe he will help deter the heron.
