Oxygenating marginals

So they advertise as marginals and you can't e put reeds and iris over winter in the water. Is that Just because there to young and get shocked. Lack of roots etc

They won't have time to get established in the pond at this time of the year. They need to get over the shock of moving and planting and get stronger before being hit by cold.

They should be okay next winter if you put them out in the spring. But it's just getting a bit late for that now, at least where I live. If you have mild temperatures in winter they might be alright. But if you have heavy freezes it might be best to wait.

Maybe someone else has more experience with putting in plants this time of year and in a climate similar to yours. Many of us here are getting ready to winterize our ponds, cutting back the plants and preparing them for cold weather.

We get the odd few days of -4 say but mainly above 0. Thanks for your help if you don't know that's ok.
