If you do have that much or even more i would make the waterfall taller and have more water bouncing off rocks on the way down. But as mentioned the plants and their roots will cause the water to rise and even block the water fall it's imperative to make the opening of the falls much larger than needed so especially this time of year the plants when they droop it's harder for the plant to block and raise the water level which can also cause the pond to empty out.
I’ll keep that in mind for sure. I may also create another waterfall as I have extra liner and created a T from my main line in case the power goes out.

Waiting to see it all in action! You have a nice property too!
Thanks! I only had 15 min to turn on and take a few pics. I’ll take some more tomorrow.

minimum of 6 inches , that is simply for plants growing and roots lifting the surface over time. so if your at or above that you can use that snorkel as a over health of the bog and if it is clogging and backing up. something you won't find the pros doing.

the plants caqn easily hide 6 inches i left mine closer to a foot high but i also have my flow reversed the water enters my snorkel through a bakki shower

Beautiful! Great job! Leave the bog edge high, I had to raise mine 3 times, luckily I don't cut excess liner off.

I was wondering with the water level in the bog rising.

It rose, I covered with more gravel and it rose more. This is without plants. Do you think my pump is pumping too much water under all the rock?

Lowering the water flow may lower the water level. Increasing the outflow area will too.

Plants will raise the level more by blocking flow and as they grow their roots push the gravel up more., which also blocks flow.

The gravel provides resistance and friction against the water. It makes a dam, even though the water can flow through it. This was my big lesson with bogs. The water level at the back of the bog is higher than at the front because of the resistance to flow. Adding rock adds to the resistance the water must flow through. This will raise the water level at the back of the bog even more.

You can increase the flow of the water by channeling out some streams where the rock level is lower so the water can flow faster. This can be done with a stick or hoe or your hands.

Thanks so much makes total sense. What I’ll do is increase the flow to my other line, I have it at a T. One line goes down to the centipede and other stays out and will be a future water fall. Will also carve out a stream. I’m sure I’ll have to do more adjusting as I plant it out in the spring and as the plants mature as well. All fun stuff!!
