A tip my friend dont rush if you do mistakes can and do get made, plan it through, think it through and get it right first time ,Your advice has been great I am shooting for 2 weeks or less
You dont want to be filling the pond up stocking it etc only to find that something isnt right .
We had one chap in our club took a total of 9 years from start to finish and even though our pond is finished we still have the cosmetic stuff to take care of 5 years in.
One of the main mistkes we made was the inability to cut off the water to the pump so that it can b removed.
Another thought what electrics are you going to hook up to, a power out on your internal electrics lighting and sockets could rake your pond out so a seperate fuse from that would be advised i;e an external rather than house hold would stop this should you need to cut power to ligting and sockets for any reason {
A most important piece of kit for any koi or pond owner to buy in our view to have on permanent standby for the worst case senario"the Power cut", so buy yourself a small generator our is a clarks 700 and is capable of running the pond plus equipment and even one or two things in the house
It may never ever happen but at least then your mind is at peace knowing you can handle this problem should it happen.
