I've had it 2.5 months, so I think Ebay is out. I should have tried it soon as I got it. But, I'll wait and see what he says. If he doesn't respond, I'll go to the manufacturer. I have the receipt, so it will be good. Either way, I have to pay shipping. :) Good ideas thought on the Pay Pal and Ebay, etc.

pp will help pursue if you have an issue with the seller, I had to do that once. Just like dealing with a cc.

I used air pumps for years, and when you operate them outside, little bits of sand and dirt can get into one of the diaphrams on the pump. ( hence the noise) . The diaphrams also don't last long on the (air) pumps and that part is not usually under warrenty. The part its self is cheap, but putting it on can be a "head ache" on some models. Some pet stores will have spare diaphrams on hand that may fit your model and some petstores may install them if you inquire. If your good at taking things apart and fixing things, you should be able to replace it your self with just a couple screw drivers. :)

Well, good news! The guy e-mailed me this morning, he going to get a replacement from the manufacturer! Not sure if he's going to send it directly to me, or if I need to return the one I have, but I'm happy he's following through with the request. My guess and hope is that he will have the new one delivered to me, and then I will have a tag to put on the box to return the other one . That way I won't have the pay for shipping it back, which I shouldn't have to do, since it never was right from the get go! Woohoo!!!
And, Colleen, I've replaced diaphrams in my small air pumps before, but not sure I could do it on this big honker! I like taking my water pumps apart and cleaning them and putting them back together. LOL Guess that's a good thing, considering I'm a ponder. :)

CE, That's good news about your pump. I sit mine on a bag of sand so it cuts down on the vibration, but it sounds like obviously something is wrong with yours. The first two pictures are from Sister Bay WI. I made the first rock sculpture and the next day there were 5 more! The next are pics from the jelly exhibit at the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago. They are really fascinating. I took a picture of the stream outside and you can see the Chicago skyline behind it. It was crowded because they have a jazz band on Wed. nights. The last pic is the skyline just before the Navy Pier fireworks started.

Thanks JW,CE, It is a great view of the City because you are looking across Monroe Harbor from the aquarium. It's a nice vantage point and there are a lot of boats that come right next to where you are. It's also fun because when can you walk around something like that sipping cocktails and listening to good music. I never did find out where the goldfish were, but saw a lot of interesting sea life. re our Door County Trip; We visited edgewood orchard galleries in Fish Creek and they actually have a wall set up with rocks and ask patrons to build their own rock sculptures. There were about 50-100 rock sculptures. When I saw this wall by the pier I couldn't resist making one. I left and then our friends made one and by the next day there were 4 more! Our friends liked the sculpture idea so much they took home a bag of rocks. This is a link to the jelly exhibit. http://www.sheddaqua...ibit/index.html

Only time I was in the ocean with jelly fish was when my family went to FL for Christmas break. I was about 15 at the time, JAWS had just come out, my boyfriend and I had just seen it before our trip. Man of War jelly fish were on the beaches, being washed up there were hundreds of them, so the beach was closed. When it opened up, there were still signs of the jelly fish, warning you about them, we didn't know much about them, jumped right into the water. Mind you, there are 6 siblings in my family. When my baby sister started screaming about an hour later, I ran to the rescue. She was in the shallow water, down on her belly, and I thought of nothing else than a damn shark was trying to get her! I panicked, grabbed her by the arms and literally drug her onto the shore. I thought the shark was pulling at her, but it was the undertow. I picked her up and carried her farther away from the water, pumped cause I thought I was going to see blood on her legs! The life guard came running with kleenex and I think maybe alcohol. He very gently started pulling the tentacles off her legs. That sucker must have had 6' long tentacles, and she was one sick little girl that night. I was so scared from the experience, I didn't want to go back into the ocean the rest of the trip. LOL We were all swimmers, all swam on swim teams, competed, etc., so when she was screaming, what was an older sister to think, but the worst! Darn movie! I don't think I would have reacted the same had I not just seen that movie, and it scared the bejeebers out of me, too!

I swam into a 3 inch high man of war, thought I was going to die. Wrapped around my neck, down my back, both arms. We were in mexico, no clue what to do, now know that vinegar works.

mexico again, stepped on a stingray, stung bottom of foot, top of foot, that is the worse pain I have every had, nerve pain. Hot water, ice water nothing worked except two days passing. Even tried drinking, nope didn't help

Dang, those were to really nasty stings, Addy! I've seen stingrays while diving, but never jelly fish. Saw them while in a boat in the mangroves on Bonaire, but we weren't in the water at that area. Really neat, they were in shallow water, kind of hovering over the bottom. Pretty to see, not nice to get stung by.

CE, Wow, i'm glad your sister was okay. I remember jaws coming out too and everyone was so scared of the ocean. Actually more people die every year from a coconut falling on their head than shark attacks! Addy, yes I kept thinking about their stingers when I saw them. That doesn't sound like fun being attacked by one of them. They are pretty when you see them the way they are exhibited.

Keith they have a nice display of several kinds of jelly fish there at that aquarium.

Wow CE your poor little sis! How old was she when it happened and does she remember that horrible incident today?

addy those are horrible visions I see in my head now of your being grabbed by that Man Of War! I would have passed out from fear. How did you get away from it?
And then to step on one of those sting rays.............isn't that what killed Steve Irwin?
