OK, how do I do that "quote" thing now that the forum changed? I was going to comment on JW comment on me "hosing" my family. LOL Yikes, misspelled of course, but you figured that out. Thanks for that catch.
When my son was very young, maybe 2.5 years old, my dad took him to the park. He had just learned to go on the "big potty", but also was allowed to "pee on the tree" in our back yard. We lived in the country, and no one would see him anyhow. When he "whipped it out" at the park, my dad was sooo embarrassed, he pulled up my son's pants and rushed him to the bathroom, but it was too late. Now he had wet pants to deal with. LOL Told him next time to not make such a big deal out of it, let him finish, then explain to him not ok to pee in public. We all got a big kick out of that.

Well when you have mud covered boots on, out in the yard working, a good squat takes care of that issue! Always keep a roll of tp or paper towels out on the tool shelf

So Keith, how is your pond doing? Melted yet?

CE thanks so funny, I feel sorry for your guests that get hosed. I'm sure they won't stay longer than necessary. Colleen, Yeah There were a couple breaks in the ice yesterday after two days in a row over 40 degrees. I wanted more so I plugged in my deicer overnight and even though it snowed again.... we are like 3 inches away from the all time Chicago record, and went down to 20 degrees, I found a hole in the ice a basketball could fit through. and guess what I saw!!! A big orange fish!?!
I didn't even remember that I had any like that!. It's the first fish I have seen in over 5 months. yipeeeee!! Sissy maybe some day we will move by you. Our daughter is doing an internship at P&G this summer and we feel she will get a could job there when she graduates. Her sister is in DC and the oldest one is talking about moving to NYC so we will need to find something equidistant so we are not too far away from the three of them and and want to be close to the little one. Big Lou I am assuming there is a lot of space between your house and the neighbors. If you did that here you would go to jail! Re house We have 4000 sq ft and another 2000 in the finished basement but it sits on about 6000 sq ft of land plus we have a garage off the back so there isn't much room for anything else, hence the small pond. The house is way to big now that all the kids are gone. I built it 15 years ago and it suited our purposes at the time. Now I would love to get a big yard on a quarter acre or more and a three bedroom house would be more than enough. My wife wants me to stop talking about how big the yard needs to be to for an adequate size pond and says our lives should not be controlled by a few goldfish.... The only thing is new construction is coming back here which is good for my business but now all those small houses on big lots are starting to be sold for teardowns like the old days.

yeh thinking you may need to downsize a little bit .The problem with a big yard is someone has to mow it and trim it .Yep that went on in NJ big huge houses on dinky lots .I was lucky on my second house an acre and all the houses around me were older homes on an acre or more .So there was breathing room .I love my lot the first time i saw it because of the view .Here house are cheap and on big lots 5 acres or more some of them .There is a house down the road from me 8 acres and 68 thousand no jobs here and farther from town so it will sit on the market for awhile just like lots of other homes .The other place i own has 12 acres and paid 27 thousand and is not far from Bedford lake and Smith Mountain Lake .Here land is cheap and getting forested every day .They started cutting trees here a month ago and all you see is logging trucks

The highest price house here is around 500 thousand and that has 58 acres .Barns and several care takers houses and stables ,barns and all fenced .They have had it up for sale for 10 years now on different realtor sights .Some houses start at a million dollars but they are really fancy farms or horse stable ranches .My house on 3 acres well, septic ,house and basement was 89 thousand and is a modular home I gave norris homes in Tennessee the plans i drew up .They built it and trucked it here in the middle of the night because it was a 100 ft long .Road permit only allows 92 ft and that is with the hauling tongue .We made it here before day break and were not stopped .I think we all sweated that one .If you want to look keith there is dan river association of realtors in danville VA .www.danriverassociationofrealtors.com.I looked for months and always found the right house or lot but never together .Views were important what do retired people want to relax and do enjoy the views .:):cow::cow::cow:

I have been watching this show Property Brothers which do a lot of Renovations in Canada (they buy and a fixer upper and show what the possibilities are with it if the home owners renovate it), your property is very expensive for what you get. some of the houses are 800k and they look like something you would get for maybe 150k here. I just can't believe the costs. I am sure there are less expensive ones farther out from any of the cities.

Hey Nathan, Actually P&G in Cincinnati as a summer intern in engineering. It's an amazing internship. They pay them very well plus she gets free housing. Right now engineering is really a great field for students to go into. The opportunities are amazing and especially for girls. We are going to Spain and Portugal in a few weeks to visit her while she finishes up a study abroad semester.
Tmann, I actually watched the show today for the first time and saw "brothers helping brothers" and I couldn't believe how cheap the prices were!! I guess everything is relative. Also I loved the time line. No project takes more than 6 week and all the work was less than $150,000 for a project even for a 5000 sq ft home! I do a lot of rehabbing and now I know why my customers think the projects should be done so fast. It takes 2-3 weeks just to get an inspection done in Chicago and there usually are two inspections for each trade!
Well the ice finally melted yesterday after a long winter and I got to see my fish. A lot of them looked good but weren't doing much. I had to remove one floater and it looks like a frog was frozen solid but I left it in case it comes to life when it thaws :) Everything froze back up today and its supposed to be unseasonably cold for at least the next week.

Cool that you get to go on the trip Keith and visit your daughter.
Won't be long now till the warmth sticks around and keeps your pond free of ice. I think we are on the road to better weather here now but the darn rain keeps coming back! Better than freezing tho :)
