sissy - I saw a trick on Mythbusters that might help you. They took a length of vinyl tubing and simply drilled holes through it down the length they needed. If you keep the holes small, you should be able to make your own bubbler this way. Of course you'll have to weigh it down, but I've seen strips of soft lead that you could wrap around the hose every few inches.

Got a fair number of rocks placed along the far bank today, but a thunderstorm is moving in so I wrapped up for the day. I might be able to finish off with one more small load of large rocks, but I'm going to need a lot more of the smaller rocks to fill in the area behind the large rocks. These are really the only thing holding the dirt back from getting knocked into the water over time, so I want to use more than just one little row of them.

I think I have my technique down for placing the larger rocks now. I'm giving them a little more ledge to sit on, so they don't fall into the water from stepping on them. Then I backfill under the liner with dirt to bring up the liner another 3". Seems to be working well, and I'm quickly diminishing the last pile of dirt in the middle of the yard.

sissy... yeah right! Finishing the pond just means I can move on to the next project...

I got all my strawberries replanted along the river today. I can't believe how many plants were packed into three square feet before, but they've got tons of room to spread out now! The rebar on the ground shows where I'm going to lay down my yard edging, so I'll have to re-seed some grass where I've added fill dirt. I'll get my yard level yet!

I also spent a lot of time finishing up the electrical today. I got the second outlet wired in, then I finished anchoring the first box in place under the bricks around my tree. I still need to cut a couple of small filler bricks to finish it off, but the box is tucked in pretty nicely now.

Shdwdrgn, when you get a chance can you post a pic of how you have the fliters finally set up with the waterfall over flow. I'm intrested in some of the concept with an idea I'm thinking about. Thanks

fishin - take a look here... http://www.sourpuss.net/projects/pond/2011/construction/waterfall/http://

That shows the underlying framework, which was then filled with dirt to give a solid footing for the waterfall basin. That is as far as I've gotten right now. The next step will be cutting the spout holes through the liner, and attaching the liner up to the sides of the barrels to actually form a basin with a little depth.

It was a real shame to have to dig up the strawberries. They take 2-3 years to start producing good berries anyway, and they were just starting to produce last year. This will probably set them back another year before I see anything good, but now they're not on a slope so they will get more water, and in a couple years I should have a huge bed growing.

I'm also thinking of throwing in a bunch of periwinkle everywhere, to keep some ground-cover over the winters as well. So many new opportunities for plants, guess we'll see what happens.

I didn't quite understand that part about the periwinkle as I thought they were little creatures w/ rock like things on them and I didn't get what they had to do w/ ground covers? Am I missing something here:lol:
