sissy - yeah they get bashful when I'm up moving around, but I sat outside beside the pond for a couple hours watching them, and they had no problems coming up to the edge while I was there. The water is so clear today we can see right to the bottom. I shut off the pumps for a few minutes to get a good look, and the black sand I poured in the bottom is still right where its supposed to be. That should make the dojo's happy when they are released into the pond.

your water looks like it is getting plenty of oxygen looking at your pics .I am taking a abs pipe and drilling holes in it and glueing caps on the end and putting 1 of my air hoses in it to see if it will work have to weight it down .

Hey that is a lot of pictures you took and now if anybody wants to know how you did it I think you haven't left a darn thing out! I enjoyed seeing your fish swimming in the river and pond. They look like they are enjoying it and wouldn't even want to think about jumping outta that nice home

sissy - that's quite a lot of air, and a heck of a good price! Let us know how it works out for you. Yeah that's one reason I like to have a waterfall - free oxygenation. It is rather loud though, so I may have to play around with the setup and see if I can reduce the noise a bit. Maybe get more of the water running down the wall, instead of just shooting out.

j.w - another good thing about having so many pictures, I don't have to remember where I buried all the pipes! :)

fishin - thanks, I'm really happy with how its turning out. I don't have too much more work before I can start replanting everything around the edges of the pond, and the moneywort takes off fast so I should have some good ground-cover by the end of this Summer.

Aeration in your pond would greatly benefit you as well. By placing one or two large airstones in the middle at the deepest points it helps to bring settling muck up from the deep and get it to the filter to get out of your system, it brings the cool water up and keeps the pond warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. It also provides more oxygen deep in the water column as it brings water that moves less to the surface and brings oxygenated water back to the deep. Plus you will find Koi really love to play in the column of rising bubbles.

so far air pump in 1 day and amazed at the difference in the pond aggie thinks it's her own personal spa .I have to go get hoses to split off it and even though it had rubber feet had to put a foam pad under it as I mounted a board to my 6x6 front porch post and had my windows open last night .You could here this low noise but extra pad under that resolved it so far .I may put it on a timer sense no use in running it 24 /7 .I just have the air hose in the water for now because small air stones could never handle this .I am waiting for a weighted air hose to come in and will hook that up to 1 of the outlets .I am also waiting for the new air adapter that has 8 outlets for this but has turn off valves on each 1 so you can use how many you want and turn the others off
