Yes addy you never know when you might need a surgical implant or wound covering. Save up your slugs and when you go into the doc maybe you can turn them in for a discount :nananananana:

This is what it said in my post up above:

Once the mechanisms and molecules of slug slime are better understood, researchers foresee numerous potential applications in materials science and bioengineering, such as pollutant traps for sewage treatment plants, effective water-based lubricants, and improved surgical implants and wound coverings.

So it seems that they may be able to use the slime in the future for implants and the wound coverings :nananananana:

yes, and I won't take offense to be called a slimy salesmen! In all honesty I think jw had some interesting points. I am going to talk to my brother n law about slime. He runs a bioengineering program at area university.

ok, well I got beaten to the punch. I was willing to donate a penny to the forum for every gallon of slime sold. His response was that slime is actually a big field of study now and has a lot of interesting possibilities. He knows someone at Northwestern University that is researching slime produced by mussels. j.w. there are only 6 types of mussels in Washington in case you were interested. There are over 300 kinds in the US, but most of them are east of the Mississippi, and according to something I just read 70% of them are endangered now.

Oh darn, sorry about that Keith. And yum on the mussels. They are pretty tasty but I prefer clams and oysters myself. Hope you can find a job soon

Well I actually did find a job since the RE market crashed. I assist banks with their unwanted real estate, but always looking for new ideas because eventually they are going to run out of bad real estate.
