The weather here was nice today, little rain showers and temperature was not to bad either. Last frost was Tuesday, never went below freezing on Wednesday night here, and been getting warmer each day. Today it reached 61 degrees, and right now it is currently 52 degrees. Summer may be coming after all! :)

We have had so much snow/hail the last two weeks I was beginning to wonder if spring was ever going to come. I turn my pump off when temps drop cause my pump pushes a lot of water through my pond. Before it turned cold again bottom of the pond was 54F and within a couple days it dropped to 43F. So decided to shut it down for a couple days. Pond temp has raise again and fish are swimming around:). No mating so far. :).

I have several big pumps running right now as it is spring, even if the water is still quite cold, yesterday I noticed a big drop in temperature from last week, when I put my hand in the water to get a rock, the water was ice cold and too cold almost for my bare hand, I am sure my temperture is below 50, but fish were still very frisky and swimming up a storm and the bigger goldfish in the middle pond were chasing. The two big Koi in the top pond threw water over the edge yesterday cause they were moving very fast, and those big Koi can really push water around with their big tails. They seem even bigger then last year, how is it they seem to grow over winter? I never could figure that out, how they look so much bigger each spring....

This morning the fish are quite and back to resting under the large floating yellow flag iris. That plant too is coming back to life nice, even if it got off to a slower than normal start. Spring flower bulbs and irises by the pond are poking out too. Things should really start growing now, the ground is very wet from good rain yesterday, and I have much to do today....

Colleen, how come your glass globe looks like a double in the 3rd pic? Is that a reflection of it on the pond? I really like that glass globe thingy, I think it has a light for nighttime. I must have one of them .... going to watch for them at the local stores, but may have to order one. This year, I really want more lights in and around my pond for nighttime viewing. I have solar "spot lights" that come on, but want more underwater and in the waterfall, too.

The glass globe in the third picture is in the middle of the bottom pond. The other round ball is a metal ball that spins non stop, the water that pours out from the middle pond, cause the ball to spin. (Centripetal force from the water falling causes the ball to spin) The glass globe in the middle of the bottom pond is really great and lights the bottom pond all around quite nice at night. It is new and I bought it last week for 60 Canadian dollars at this pet store. They are meant for ponds and water features and come on automatic at night. I just love it and it was well worth the money to enjoy seeing the fish on a nice warm evening!

Lucky you, MT! It's been raining here all morning, finally quit, but dreary and chilly out there. Will be packing up your grass and other items tomorrow, so that will give you something to look forward to and plan to plant next week!
BTW, I have to look back at what you wanted ... thinking you did want some Creeping Jenny, and I'll have plenty for you, and had extra grass starts left from last weekend. Would you like any Lamb's Ear starts? It is a spreader, grows low about 8" tall, light mint green colored leaves, VERY soft "like a lamb's ear". I need to move some plants, and I have more than I want, so if you have a place for them (they can go full sun - preferred - to partial shade), let me know and I'll toss some of them in. They are light weight, so not much added postage to add them.
Here's a pic of some of the Creeping Jenny that has "crept" where I would prefer it not to be, and then the Lamb's Ear.

We have had some really nice weather the last couple of days! I've started feeding my fish a little and my string algae seems to be going away :). Hope it will continue to do so.
So happy to say my overwhelming string algae is completely gone. No residue on the bottom to boot.
