If you could put in a sweep, i.e. make it angle down more you could build up your rocks to hide it. Oh and fantastic about having a pond! Glad the batting is working. You are a true ponder, look for things you can use from the house for your pond!

Where the pvc starts to angle down, it looks like a sweep, move that closer to the filter barrel, that will make the pvc get closer to your rocks. You could also try to run the piping so it comes into the back of your container, that might help hide it, if you have enough line.

You go girl ... and your hubby! Congrats on your new baby. It looks fantastic, and if you think the batting is not going to work, just wait til tomorrow. You will be amazed at the difference even one day will make. Do not drain, use the water, it will be fine. I'm sooo excited for you! Did I see an envious next door neighbor by the fence in the one picture?
Anyhow, just wanted to let you know it looks fantastic, and will only get better every day that goes by! You're lucky, while your pond is cycling, you can be working on the landscaping around it.
One note about mulch. Someone made a comment to me as I have red mulch in my landscaping but not around the pond. I have lots of wind where I live, and some would likely blow into the pond. So, I have decided not to use any unless I have a good ledge between landscaping and the pond, which I do have on most sides but the side between pond and deck. Just a gentle warning, if you have high winds a lot, too.

Addy, we purchased the flexible PVC from webbsonline and we had a heck of a time with it. Hubby had to use a heat gun to get it to bend as much as it did. We've already considered hard plumbing the pipe outside of the pond and just using the flexible in the pond. We thought it was going to be much more flexible than it is. Hadn't even considered plumbing to the back of the tank, that is a great idea. I told hubby that I already have my "yard sale" list compiled and am ready to start hitting the yard sales for bargains.

Our nursery hosts an annual pond tour to benefit the Animal Shelter and we've gone the last 3 years. That's what originally started this whole thing. I fell in love and am hooked!

I have never used flexible pvc, always hard plumb. You will be able to hide it well then, just keep your angles to as few as possible, helps with the resistance.

CE - Thank you..... I can say already that it's been worth all the sore muscles. We do get wind here and actually have had some tornadoes, I have ordered some flexible edging to use between the rock and mulch. I can't wait to start getting plants. My mom has a super green thumb and I plan on getting lots of landscape plants from her.

Water update - still cloudy but I think the bog has cleared up just a bit. I must confess.... I took our Boxer to Petsmart to get his nails clipped and left there with my dog and 2 Shubunkins!!! They were only $1 each. I couldn't help myself. Right now they are in my fish aquarium. :goldfish: :goldfish:

I did the same thing, PL! I have 3 shubies, 2 fantails, and then found 2 white Comets last week and bought them, too! I'm a basket case! LOL But, it sure is fun. :) The good thing about having them in your aquarium is that you can watch them and make sure they will be healthy. You get really attached to them in the aquarium, too. Take pics, as once they are in the pond, pics are few and far between on getting good clear pics, ... unless you have an underwater camera like Addy does. :)

I told pet store I'll be selling him my babies and he said, "bring it on!" So, at least I can sell off what I don't want to him. I'll try selling any extras on Craigs List or on the free "trading post" our local radio station does, too.

Addy, I'm okay with allowing the pond time to clear up. My husband is the one who is not. LOL

Addy I may let him do it and then when he gets the water bill tell him it wouldn't be so high if he would have just been more patient. lol

Laughing, got to love it! It will clear, too cold to throw in fish so you have time.
