Finally after what seem liked forever, we have some movement and my tadpoles have begun metamorphosis.
Some are well on their way:

Wow - apologies i haven't been on for a while due to some sad news in the family - its great to see so many of you having your tad poles turn into little frogs.
I know a few people previously asked how mine were doing as i added some pics earlier on - i had LOADS!!! - and yet they all seem to just disappear - in fact i saw my first one today which grew to a stage which included its legs but still a tail. i thought i was doing something wrong - every one said we would be over run!

Well - i went on holiday last week and a friend lent me a camera as he knows i also like photography - not the best quality - but look what 1 frame captured in 6 days where it took a picture every 5 minutes - I think this answers all my questions - even caught in the act with a frog in the mouth!

I actually wondered why some of the plants kept falling over - said to mum the birds prob keep knocking it - i had NO IDEA!!!

Mr. Pond, that's a great shot of the heron, but in a VERY bad place. Darn, sorry to hear you have one that has found your pond. That's likely where your tadpoles are going as well. Do you have fish it could be stealing? They can clean out a pond even with very large fish. Good luck!

My crazy green frogs are dropping eggs again, tons of them!
MR pond that is a neat shot of the heron, good luck! It will clean out your pond of living critters given enough time.

So, I was walking around with my camera, since I spotted a couple of black swallowtails, and wanted to get a pic of them, but they never would land and hold still!
Walking around the koi pond, I noticed a Bullfrog in front of the cute sign my friend made for me. Lilies were blooming nicely, too, so figured it was a good photo op.

Here's the bullfrog up close.

Then I noticed a second larger bullfrog. Not sure, is the female usually larger? If so, the female looks very sneaky, hunkering down ... oh wait, maybe she was trying to hide from me! ;)
Two bullfrogs.JPG

Came back around about 30 minutes later, and the first bullfrog was ON the sign! That doesn't seem odd, until you realize the sign is almost straight up and down, 90 degree angle! I suspect it was going after a dragonfly or some other bug up in the flowers. :)

And, the other frog was still there, too ... see her to the right of the sign on top of the rocks? ;)

Never a dull moment these days. I'm just happy the bullfrogs are coming back. With all the rain and cooler temps, there have been only 1 bullfrog on each pond, so hoping to get more coming to visit now that the temps appear to be going up again.

The tree frogs were moving into the pond before I even had it filled. I had to keep removing them from behind the liner so they would not get squished.

Someone has been having a lot of fun in my pond! I suspect these are frog eggs, but no idea what type of frog. They are not so much in strings, but more like in masses of strings, floating on the surface. There also seems to be some foamy substance around them.

And, I did see something moving in the water when I took this pic, but had no idea it was a dragonfly ... or two! Wonder what they were doing in there? Maybe a frog caught them? Or, were they eating eggs? They surely didn't lay the eggs, did they? My bullfrog is usually sitting in this area, so suspect they are possibly bullfrog eggs ...

This frog is much smaller than my bullfrogs ... maybe this is the egg layer? It certainly was in the middle of the mass of eggs! Whatever type of eggs they are, I hope they hatch!

A beautiful sounding bullfrog has been singing off and on all evening. Sliding door is open to the screen, so I can listen to them!
