Hi guys; joy today. A tree frog was watching me and trains and aqueduct. Can you spot the tree frog in the photo?

I love tree frogs, great find indeed, SE18! Sadly, since I have few mature trees in my yard (or the next 1.5 miles in any direction, for that matter) it's highly unlikely that I spot one of them. It's a rare find in my yard.
Lucky you, RobAmy! I'm hoping the warmer temps will get the toads and frogs singing again by the weekend. Going up to the 70's again ... finally!

We had a week of cold temps and down near freezing for several days. The toads stopped singing (if thats what you call it) We are back to better temps and they are at it again. I have approx 20 toads in my pond right now!!! That is a lot for my pond size I think.. I had a lot of toad tads last year and that is why I think there is so many.
My concern is are that many toads going nuts in my pond right now going to have any negative impact on things. Besides the fact that I will soon be over run with tad poles again? Should I catch some up and relocate down to the creek? Too many toads!

I just let them do their thing, I always have a ton breeding, it all seems to balance out. Never seems to bother the pond.

The green frogs have not started spooning yet, the toad eggs are all tads now, tons of them in the ponds. Tiny things.

I remember someone saying that fish won't eat toad eggs/tadpoles, but the one year I had hundreds of the little taddies, I saw no baby toads. Maybe they were so tiny I never saw them. But, surely something eats the eggs and tadpoles from toads, right? Maybe dragonfly nymphs, or birds or something? I have not seen any eggs in either pond for the last 2 years, so something surely is eating them before I get a chance to spot them. I sure hear the love choruses!

The toad babies are around 1/4 inch in size when they go to hop away.

The two have claimed the small loop pond as theirs well there are around 3-4 others that hop away as soon as I show up.
