Good and good luck to you! Didn't think of a dog getting caught up in it, they of course would not see the line either. That black bird netting works great, hardly can see it, probably sort of like your leaf netting, I have used it to keep rabbits out of my veggie garden.

This is really starting to get VERY annoying,(To try and say it politely) Got my coffee, and went to watch the fish this morning and the first thing I find when I walked out was my Red head Comet laying on the rocks outside the pond. Two hours I have sat and waited for what ever got it out to return. NOTHING! I can tell you this, I have now poured three cans of red and black pepper all around the pond area about 5-6 feet away to keep it out of the pond, The dogs are sneezing and staying in the house, they won't even come out to do their business in the back now. I went and found a spray that is suppose to keep racoons and such away. Put that out, my yard looks like a fishing line tangle service, and I ran out of old CD's and aluminum foil putting up flashing thingy doddie's (lol What ever you call them!) Looks like a freaking disco party out there! Going today to go buy a trail cam for hunting. What ever this is that is getting my fish has just been declared war on! NO MORE MISTER NICE GUY!!!!

Harbor Freight has Driveway Alarms. I use them to warn me at night if the raccoon attacks. The IR at the pond sets off an alarm in the house.
I have had losses over the years due to them and I am no longers a nice guy either. The damage they do in one night takes months to repair when they tear up plants to get your fish.

I'm intrested in these, do they run off of standard electricity or are they battery, solar, or other? I'm assuming they are motion activated. On the alarm, can you place the alarm where you can hear it better? I still think it's a bird but right now, I'm still not sure, Plants seem untouched, I still have the wire covering the pond, the fish I found this morning had one mark toward the tail where there were some scale missing and some bruising but other than that seemed to be untouched. I thought maybe it jumped out but where I found it that would be almost impossible although there are other spots where that could have occured. I'll be looking for this, My try and look at harbor freight when I go get the motion camera at Bass Pro Shop this afternoon, (Just got a flyer in the mail they have a good one on sale for $79.00 that has been running $99) figured might as well grab that one unless the sales man has a good pitch on one that may work better in the same price range.

Thats it. Make sure you get different channels. They have 1-5.

So one channel for the pond and one for the actual drive way, or do you think I need two separate channels for the pond if I install two there? Ultimately I would like one sound for the pond one one for the driveway but the receiver for the pond needs to be in two places in the house, the driveway one I only need one. Hope this makes sense. lol

These are paired and sold as such. If you want, I suppose you could buy the same channel and use only one receiver. Each transmitter needs a reciever. I wish they would have different sounds though. When mine go off, unless I am looking at it and see the red light blink I'm not sure which one sounded off. So my unit that watches the pond is in our bedroom and the one that watches the nursery is in the family room.

Went to harbour freight today, They did not stock that item but were able to order me three from right there. Said it would take about 3-5 days to come in but when i told them my situation they offered to send it directly to me for $8.95 shipping. I figured that would be better than the $20 worth of gas to drive back. Did get the motion camera so I'm sitting here reading the instructions to figure how to operate it. Hope it works! We found new fish today at a small Koi farm we found online. Not to far from us, Wow, First time I have seen Koi over 36" They had one that measured 39" and one that was 41" $2000 and $2500 respectively. They were huge and beautiful! He said they were both 12 years old and both were from Japan and part of his original breeding stock. Wish I had brought my camera but I did get pics of the new guys we got! :fish:

A little trivia:
Koi can live for centuries. One famous scarlet koi, named "Hanako" (c. 1751 – July 7, 1977) was owned by several individuals, the last of whom was Dr. Komei Koshihara. Hanako was reportedly 226 years old upon her death.[13] Her age was determined by removing one of her scales and examining it extensively in 1966.

I've read about that fish before, haven't read about the scale being examined though. If I am correct I think I read there were a few more that were not far behind her either.
I'm guessing that these I saw today were about maxed out as far as length, But that being said, I bet they could gain girth as they weren't fat by any means compared to many I have seen.

OK, after a week of the trail camera being out I got a very disturbing photo. I've moved the camera several times as I was getting similar shots of nothing. thought it might have been the reflection from the CD's. Well Now, what is it? Not a Blue Heron! I'm thinking Egret? Going to be a early morning in the morning!!!!!

Ooops, forgot to add the pics. Notice the wire on the cover closely, I think this thing is actually walking on the wire!

Almost looks like a great horned owl

I had one that would bath in my stream every evening in arizona, loved watching it, but no fish in the stream either.
