Now I read on duck sites that bread is not so good for them. Said once in awhile is ok and they did say oatmeal was ok but it was best to let them learn to forage for their own food so they can survive out in the wild. Take a look online and see what the pro's say about it.
Said they like some kinds of veggies and bird seed but don't think you want to be throwing bird seed unless it floats. Kids will want to feed them and they said ok, just not too much.

Well, we last saw the ducks yesterday morning out for a swim. They waddled off through the yard mid morning and haven’t been back since. There were only 10 ducklings last we saw them.

Sure hope they come back! I read that ducks frequently have 10-12 offspring and only 2-3 are expected to survive.
