Oh wow! It's looking fantastic! That little stream is a great addition, especially once you've got the porch siding in place. Quite a cool setting for a little girl's birthday party too. Is she swimming in the pond yet?

She's been "swimming" in it since last summer with a life jacket. This summer, we're actually teaching her how to swim.

One tip - heavenly bamboo will set out runners if it stays damp.

Good to know. Thank you. Should be easy to trim/sever them as they come up with where they're planted now.

To heck with bringing a deck to the pond bring the pond to the deck. It's been what 4 years since you added on its time to add on . I'm on number 4 addition to the pond you got to catch up.

I could be convinced to do that, but I like the patio! And there's a pesky sewer line in my way.

What a great job you did! It looks beautiful.
Regarding the mulch. I also have mulch coming up to the rock edges and have never had problems with it going into the pond.

We have mulch around our pond too - it will on a rare occasion end up in the pond if we get flooding rains. But having the edge planted with ground covers of various types stops most of that from happening.

My comment wasn't about the mulch going into the pond (although, that could also happen). My comment was that @combatwombat has the liner laying flat on the ground UNDER the mulch rather than up behind the rocks (a result of the type of liner he chose - a bit less flexible than EPDM). Every step anyone takes near the edge is going to move the mulch around and expose the liner that's underneath. That would drive me crazy. Plus you can't plant right up against those rocks with liner laying flat on the ground.

Just my observations! I know @combatwombat will adjust as things come his way!

So cool you live somewhere where a momma duck and babies can just walk on in!! Bog filter will be fine and your plants will get some needed fertilizer since you have a fish deficiency. :)

Nothing cuter i'd be feeding them everything and anything they want and as much as they want to keep mom from taking them away. And as a bonus now your plants stand a chance of finding some nutrients in your pond and start growing.
