I got this plant (I think it's a day lily) from a pond friend, but can't remember who or what type/color it is, but I have about 3 of them, and they are different than my other plants. Can't wait to see it bloom!

day lilies can grow in bogs? If so I may add one of mine.

Mine grow like weeds, I have planted a full fence line with ones I pulled out and moved. They grow faster than the land ones, come up sooner, bloom sooner.

Gosh, Fishy, yes I think I DID get the lilies from you, and I just saw the sheet yesterday! Went and looked in my container, cannot find the sheet. GRRRRRR I know you sent me a Siberian red iris of some sort, too. Thinking that is in the goldfish bog, as there are a couple of extra plant in there, I think. Don't see the varigated iris, though. Will look closer tomorrow. I have been gently removing the spongey algae from the bogs about once a week, so I sure hope I didn't dislodge it before it was growing! I pretty much waited until stuff was growing well. And, I may have put that one in a pot, to make sure that didn't happen. There are 3 pots in the koi bog, none have anything growing in them yet. Pretty sure I remember where that green/white iris was, though, and don't see it there. I won't give up hope though ... it may still emerge.

I never had any luck with those plants either, Fishy Love. I think maybe I have too much clay soil that does not dry out proper. Although I now have a yellow corriopsis that seems to be coming back, but I had planted it in a big old cracked clay pot that I half dug into the ground and it seems to come back for me like that.

Critters at my ponds over the past Memorial Day weekend: Frog, damselfly (think it's maybe laying eggs on that lily pad), painted turtle, Tiger Swallowtail butterfly, toad, and wolf spider.

First lily blooming ... or at least first time I've been home in the afternoon to take a pic! They began blooming last week, I think. Have about 10 buds on the surface this morning, so things will be pretty by next weekend!

And, some progress on the stream on Sunday. Got the left half of the edge finished with river rocks, and used the glass blocks for a path, complete with blue rope lights in between the blocks! Love the look, especially at night!

Fishy, you sent me a red iris, but I'm not sure if the pale purple one is the one from you, or maybe one from one of the other ponders. Did yours bloom, and was it more of a pink or red color?
I have one of the coreopsis growing that you gave me, and the bee balm. Neither of the spider warts made it. Ostrich fern is doing well.

I have had any of the red iris bloom yet, but the blue/purple are starting the go crazy. Getting the first lizards tail bloom coming on. And the spiderwort is going bazerk, odd though the only one that survived was the one IN the pond.
Love the way you did the bridge there, with the glass block and insulator lights, very nice!
Fern didn't make it either lol, crazy huh?

I want to run hanging lights from the house to the trees and barn, I saw some with these little ratan balls (painted different colors) that cover the light bulbs.

My spiderwort in the bog and land came back. I have noticed the bees love the flowers! It blooms all of the time in the bog, off and on in the land. I have put three more bunches in the bog so it would bloom for the bees. Love the flowers on it.
