the one in the second pic with the twisted arms is neat ,it looks like it is trying to hug itself

They grow arms to balance themselves. They grow up or out depending on the tilt on the cactus. I love the twisted arms.

I saw them when I visited my auntie out there before she passed away .It was hot as heck out there and I could not take it . Some heat is nice but that hot is not

The heat is a bit much. I always hibernated once it hit. I prefer cold over that heat.

Whenever I drove around Arizona, I was always thinking about the age of the cacti.
Very interesting. Wish I could spend more time down there.
The heat was incredible, I try to imagine how life down there was before air conditioning. A person gets used to it, I guess.
Same as the cold weather here, eh.

Sort of but if cold you can add clothes, only so many clothes you can take off if hot. Lol

We are aiming for 500 miles. 60-65 only with the rv. Diesel engine. Most likely past Albuquerque.

Hey we have a spot of land my parents bought ages ago. You can camp on it for free...............don't ask me how to get to it tho. I have never seen it. I just pay the big taxes for it each year of a whopping $7.

Stopped for the night at rattlesnake draw, new mexico. 499 miles done. The blue dot is us.

The winter storm coming from California is chasing us. Hitting arizona tomorrow hitting here monday, we are around 1.5 days ahead of it.
Not sure if it going to continue east.
