We had a avalanche off the shop roof. Smacked the bee hives. They appear to be ok i am going to ask my bee friend to check them.

Might have to build a lean to behind them when you get back in case of another major storm in the future. Good thing it didn't knock them over.

The moon came up, my other camera is able to pick up the hives better and the chunk of snow fell off it. They appear ok. One is questionable. Most likely ok. When they put on the sugar boards i am not sure if the upper exit is facing forward or back. If towards the shop, they will need to be dug out a bit. They must a exit hole. Even in the winter they do relieving flights if the temps are over 45 or so.

What amazing photos from your trip! We went there as part of our honeymoon back in 2011 and it was magnificent. Nothing like it here in the UK, that's for sure!

It is beautiful. Daylight and good news. The bee hives look ok. My neighbors are going to make sure the winter exit is open. The 3-4 near the camera are the ones with heavy snow packed against them.

This is what you call one wonderful neighbor. She used their snow blower, worked her way up our 200 ft drive to get to the bees.

The back of the hives packed with snow. All winter exit holes blocked.

She then cleared the exit holes snow up above her knees. Shoveling, hacking at the snow.
