smcox1, after I saw the pic you posted of the dock back on page 3, i decided that would be awesoem for my pond. My 5 year old boy would love to stand on that over the water to feed the fish.

View attachment dock.bmp

I kind of drew it up at work, I dont want the dock to actually go down into the water at all, but i have railroad ties around the house, so im going to bolt it into those, so that when you walk out on the edge of the dock, it wont tip forward because you'll have the weight of the railroad ties on the end.

I saw a dock like that and the round posts at the end were wrapped in the extra pond liner and it was stapled to the posts way up out of the water .and had big pieces of thick liner under it to protect the pond .It was years ago at a friends house in NJ down near the shore .

I may put some round posts on the end and have have them go into the water an inch to look like it is holding it up... but I dont care how much liner and padding is on there, Im not trusting my fat behind to not poke a hole through the liner.

Ididntdoit99 the drawing looks good I would drill some holes through the railroad ties and put some 1/2" rebar in them about 4' pieces just so it doesn't decide to tip over

I live out on a ranch and I raise show cattle. So I'm out with all the big farms I live on a 40 acre ranch and have another 120 acres about 15 miles away from where I live
