Last year I expanded my pond and had a wonderful waterfall at the end that came from my pump/filter. I allowed my daughter to get a turtle. The Red Eared Slider was bigger than anticipated but did well in the pond. We brought him in for the winter and he has grown and developed a taste for fish. He is no longer welcom in my pond, but needs to return to outside next month. We already had the stock tank we had used as a temp home for the fish and we purchased a smaller one to cut and make a ramp/basking area for him. Struggling with how to put a pvc pipe or flat falls out the side to waterfall the water back into the fish pond. Where would I get a flat fall for the side? How big should the pipe be? the hoses taking the water out are 1 inch. Do I need a straight pipe or does it need something on the inside to bend it. I am attaching some pictures I have found on the internet, none with direcitons. The picture above is the placement I will have. The water hose was just to fill the tank and see if the water was level. I will have my old waterfall go into the tank next to the basking area. I like the open top to the waterfall, I have squirrels, racoons and cats that drink out of my pond and have netting, soon to be wire mesh preventing them from getting to my fish. The turtle will also have wire around him to stop him from leaving by choice or leaving to be someone's diner, not to mention to protect the cats from him. My inside cat liked to taunt him.

I use uniseals and pvc pipe, similar to the first picture. You could also use a bulkhead fitting, which is stronger but needs a larger hole for the same size pipe and can be harder to seal. I like to use 2" pipe, handles the feed from my small mag drive pumps with some extra in case leaves or sticks start to block it. I also dry fit an elbow to the pipe inside the tub if I need to adjust the water level a bit.
