Sometimes in August he can be seen darting in and out of the overgrown garden. The harvest moon tends to draw them out of "hidding" Stumpity Bumpity lives pretty much the rest of the year disguised as "old garden decor wood"

So here are some updates on what I have done.

Here is a little side table I made for using near the adirondack chairs.

DSC07093.JPG

The chairs are great, except if you have a book with you there is no place really to set it and not worry about it falling off. Hold drinks really well though! :)

So here are the plants I added to the pond, I had gotten these two to place in the whiskey barrel water garden, but the tall one kept falling over so I decided to add both to the border here (I have the tags with the names on them, just not near me now).

Here is the red stemmed parrots feather I got and some hornwort next to it.

DSC07091.JPG

I also got some water hyacinth and water lettuce on ebay, both came today, so I put some in the whiskey barrel and some in the pond. (thanks adavisus for the water lettuce, will be ordering from you again in the future)

So here is a better look at the wood I added to the stream,

DSC07098.JPG

Here is another tree stump I found, was able to pull it out of the ground and then buried it about a foot down.

DSC07167.JPG

Here are some closer pics of the stumps that look like they were burned. I asked my brother about it (certified arborist) and he believes it is some kind of fungus.

Also the baby robins are growing up and leaving the nest.

DSC07095.JPGDSC07096.JPG

One of them was out and got scared and took of and it ended up by the back door where I took this picture

DSC07171.JPG

I also got a picture of the butterfly koi I added to the pond this past tuesday.

DSC07099.JPG

The red arrow in this pic is pointing to the butterfly koi and the yellow arrow is pointing to my koi that I found that is yellow/black. They both look really cool.DSC07102.JPG

All the fish are still feeding themselves on the algae growing in the pond, and show no interesest in the koi food that I have when I throw a pinch in the pond to see if I can tempt them, but so far they have no interst.

All kinds of new, cool stuff going on at your place herz. Like your little table!
And you got a bunch of nice plants growing now. Love the look of the driftwood added to your stream...........makes it look natural. I'm gonna have to get my DH to muscle up and drag me home a stump or two one of these days. They add a lot to a garden.
That seemed so fast that those cute little birdies grew up and are now leaving home and nobody shoved anyone out of the nest early. Hope no cats around!
Your fish are very pretty..........I love the butterfly koi, they are my fav's w/ their long fins!

Cute baby robin! Doesn't look quite ready to fly, but maybe can .... There was a red winged black bird baby in my large pine tree. Every time I heard the parents raising a ruckus, I went over and either shooed the cat away, or told Yukon he was to leave the baby alone! He's my pup someone dumped and he's very obedient! It's like he understands. He was maybe 3' away from where the baby was on a low branch, barking at it. Told him to leave him alone, he's a baby. He left and besides looking back and looking that way often, he never went under the tree again. LOL
It's amazing to me, though, that the babies make so much noise, parents holler even more, no wonder the cats come to check out where the baby is. Geesh, you would think they would learn to be more quiet. :)
Love your stumps and wood, Herz! I put my roots from my pond dig across my bog and love it, too! Don't have any stumps, may have to look for some next time I go hiking. I guess I do have a few pieces of driftwood from UT when I hiked in the mountains with my daughter. They were extremely lightweight, just hauled them out ourselves. Kind of bulky but not heavy.

thanks JW, the wood on the stream, actually isn't driftwood, but dead wood pulled from my parents woods, but definitely looks cool. the only cats around are mine, but they are house cats only so no problems. I was shocked how fast they grey up too

I was going too because I thought he looked too young to fly, but he did a little that I saw. The parents were right there with him and when I checked the nest to see where the other baby birds were it was empty. and when I turned around the little bird and the parents were gone, otherwise I was going to get some gloves and put him back in. haven't seen him since, so guessing the family has moved on. not really sure what they do, first nesting robins I've had and ever paid attention to.

Stumpity bumpity always makes his appearance every year, and my grown nephew still looks for him every fall! Halloween is a big event around here, and the goblins and stuff start creeping out early, in late august, I work real hard to lure the children, never had any kids, but thats OK cause I got lots of kids from next door, seem to come every day now, with worms to feed my fish!

Maybe the lil bird took the pluge because it was time to fly, the next day the rest caught up and they all took off.
