We have red fox here, they are beautiful. JW i put the matting etc in some suet feeders I was not using and hung them in a tree near the pond and near the bird houses.
Also used an onion bag, it is perfect for the birds to pull stuff out of. Hang in trees so they feel safe when picking it up.

Addy there's a good idea........and I have suet blocks and onion bags too :helm2:

You can also put twigs (little ones) pieces of grass with the batting. My yard is pretty natural..........not golf course pretty, lol. I have so much around naturally I just hang the batting.

Since this has got a little off subject, let me add another suggestion. Birds love the dryer lint also. It usually gets tossed and this is a good way to recycle it. I know the hummingbirds use it.
And Addy1 I know what you mean about the bird food. It was a tough winter and I went through a ton of it. It's also the first year my crab apple tree has been picked bare!

hahah this topic de-railed a long time ago, red foxes are so handsome to look at and not to touch lol and yeah its a good way to use the lint instead of throwing it out but i would worry that dust from the lint would be inhaled by the birds and babies, and yeah i will hang up a few different bags of materials and help out the poor little birds

The web suggests dryer lint, but I just paid 7 bucks for brand new clean quilt batting a huge bag. My birdies are getting clean new stuff lol.

Yeah I think that would he way better for the birds than dusty dryer lint buri still think it would be nice if it could be used like that and then again you must remember that many things on the computer are misguided
