Rain held off all day and I was able to clean the sheets of batting, re-pot an indoor coffee plant that is trying to reach the ceiling, prune the dead stuff off an European Palm, straighten up my garden shed, plant a few more tomato seeds and some spinach and various other odd jobs. Now it is darkening up and the rain is a comin.

Only 2 more people left to find now from the Oso mudslide. The searchers have done a great job for the families in finding their loved ones. I thank them for all their hard efforts. They say they will stay till they find the last ones. The helicopters will stop flying back and forth over us when the last person is found. Not a nice sound to hear everyday when you know what they have in them but it has to be done :(

Wow, those workers have been working for such a long time searching, but it's great to know they are there until the bitter end. Those that are still lost, you know their families want their loved ones to be buried properly, and not to think about if they wash away and then .... well it's a terrible thought. Kudos for those helping to locate the last of those lost.
It has been 70's here the last 4 or 5 days, and I'm sure loving this. I call it perfect weather, my perfect weather anyhow. Mid to upper 70's, sunny, and 50 or so at night. Windows open to let the cool night air inside makes me sleep much better.

Yep it's a gruesome job but it's almost over and then they will fix the hwy and doubt if they will allow anyone to live there again. Too unsafe. Glad the family members can bury their loved ones and try to move on and have some peace.

Rain moving in here tonight and Pres. Obama will be visiting Oso tomorrow and checking out the mudslide area. The streets are all marked for no parking all day on the hwy thru town. I imagine it will be a fiasco on the freeways here for people trying to get anywhere. My hubby wants to ride our bikes into town and see if we can get a glimpse of it all. He can go, I'm not really interested in seeing Obama and I'm sure he won't miss me. We've never been the best of friends anyways

Well I am back from Calgary, hubby's surgery went well and should heal up nicely. I need to get cracking on the front yard and get that back in order for spring. Late last night we got home and I was tired and went straight to bed, Woke up and discovered half the water missing out of bottom pond, discovered a hose came loose and water was pumping out of pond! Everything fixed and almost back to normal, I hacked some yellow flag away that was up against the pond and took about 20 percent of plant away from that side. It was growing too thick and crowded up against that side of pond.

Deadly Ebola virus may have spread to Europe and possible case in Saskatoon Canada. A man that had traveled to west Africa may have some new strain of hemorrhagic fever. The reason deadly Ebola now spreading like wildfire is cause they sent home many people that tested negative for virus, only to discover the tests were a FALSE Positive and they indeed had a new strain of the deadly Ebola virus. Just in case you were not aware of the deadly Ebola virus, it happens to be the worst virus on our little planet!!!
There may also be a suspected case of the hemorrhagic fever in Minnesota....

Good news on getting your hubby home and all done w/ his surgery. Hope he heals quickly and is happy w/ the results.
Bummer on your hose coming lose but glad you were able to fix it quick like.

Sun coming out now, sky is blue w/ lots of puffy white clouds. A bit windy but not too bad. Might hop on our bikes and go for a ride as rain is not supposed to return till after Obama leaves here and heads for Asia today. Hope we don't get kicked off the hwy by his security guards. I guess they could kick us to the curb till he goes by but I mean we are just two measly little ole bikers out for a nice ride. He is not arriving till later this afternoon so he prolly won't get in our way :)

When we went for our ride the day before yesterday in town where all the signs say no parking such and such hours for today's Obama visit a guy out in front of his house told us jokingly for $5. we can hold up any kind of sign we want no matter if liberal or conservative

P.S nobody in Oso voted for him this is for sure. Oh well he is our prez and he needs to do his job doing what he does best which is ...............................oh never mind

Oh well, at least the Pond got a good water change when hose came off in middle of night. water levels now all back to normal. This is why I hate to leave town, Strange things happen....

On the bright side the sun is out and about and shining bright, and the lower level of water in bottom pond allowed me to fix up area where water was coming from middle pond, something I had been meaning to do for some time.

Then I was able to trim off an area off the back side of the yellow flag too. It is a very nice day and I need to quit fretting over Ebola and get yard work in front done...

Why is it that they can stop the rain for the duration of Obama's visit, but they can't do anything to stop mudslides??? :ROFLMAO:

Glad to hear about your hubby, Colleen.

Are you really at 24C today? Wow. I don't think we've broken above 15C yet this year.
