It is about time you had your share of winter Koi Guy!! Everything melting like crazy in the warm Chinook wind, ice is almost gone off the bottom pond and the rest are ice free almost completely. There is some ice on the far end of the bottom pond when the net is still stuck in the ice. I really want to get the net out of the ice but the ice is still stuck to the rocks on the edge. I got the bright idea to step lightly on the ice and pull my foot away quick, but things did not go according to plan and my foot, pant leg, and new boot ended up completely wet so that did not turn out to well, plus the net is still stuck in the dumb ice!!

It was only in the 25's here today, and the wet heavy snow from yesterday compacted and is pretty thick and icy. Windy this morning, but not as back this afternoon. I hope my ponds unthaw completely this week like other's have. Ice is about 3" thick, though, and I would think that would take a while to melt, especially with snow on top of it insulating it. Supposed to get up to almost 50 by Thursday, and mostly sunny or sunny all week, so that should help a LOT! Cookie decorating was a huge success!!!

Sissy, the wind felt warm here today and it melted lots of snow, sun was bright and wind was out of the west. If the wind comes with any moisture that can really feel chilly to the bone, or if it blows from the north it can feel really cold. Sometimes if I am tired I can chill easy too. All I know this is weather is like beautiful compared to last week! :)

Woke up to 0 F. this morning, with just over a foot of snow on the ground. It DOES look nice and Christmasy, but I could do without the cold! :cold: Hey, my smilies are working again!!! :claphands:

If you had continued on your trek to sunny Illinois, you would be enjoying our much warmer temps, John ... and Christmas cookies. :blueflower: Supposed to be right at the freezing point here today, 32F, but mostly sunny! BTW, why does the weather put it "partly cloudy" when it also means "mostly sunny"? Isn't their way the negative way, and mine the positive way? I like my way better! Always interpret "partly cloudy" to "mostly sunny"!
