Very smoky outside, think it is fog mixed w/ smoke from the house that burnt down in front of ours! I did not even here the fire trucks and nothing left but a shell of the house. It was vacant as that was the place where the supposed accidental deaths of 2 people and 1 murder took place this Summer and no people left living in that house. Don't know how it started but I did smell smoke when I went to bed last night but just thought someone was burning at night.

Overcast today here. Hope it either rains hard or doesn't. Hate it when it's drizzly and can't make up its mind whether to rain or not!

Rough neighborhood, jw! Maybe it's for the best that the house is down. An abandoned house is not good.

You will get your wish tomorrow John as I hear the rains are going to do a big dump on us Thursday and Friday and then gradually back to the wonderful sunshine and hot temps!

Not a bad hood here John, we are in the country and just a jinxed house w/ an old couple that lived there for years and then whamo, son decides to go bazerko on them all. He sits in jail now where he will never again see the outside world hopefully. Can't blame him for the fire tho cuz he was in the jail cell. Was a very old house and could have been just too stressful for it to go on living w/o its people anymore.
Now as for the house burning down sissy and us not hearing or seeing anything,it is across the road from us but about 6 acres of land sits between us and the actual house you can't even see through the bushes and trees. And I swear the fire dept must not have had their sirens on cuz I would have heard them as I was awake when I smelled the smoke. Nobody else heard anything either on our road but they all did smell the smoke. I just went and looked at the place and all that is left is the brick front that was on the bottom of the 1st story and the chimney. Brick front is leaning forward and there are lots of fire people examining the remnants. Hope it was not arson!

sure jw we believe you we really do :cheerful: Good gosh I smelled the single wide trailer and barn burning near my house and heard the fire department at 3 am and that is on the other side of the highway at least 4 or 5 miles away .By the way weed started the fire .They were growing it in the abandoned barn .I think people around here were high for a month .I guess to the headed for the fire instead of away from it . :cheerful:

I have slept thru big thunderstorms, and one night, several years ago, just three doors down, there was a big fight and the windows got smashed out of that house, and I slept thru that! Could have been a bloody murder for all I knew, cause I was in "la la land" counting the sheep! Ha ha ha. :)

I live in a run down neighborhood, but now the neighbors are all nice, and those extra scary rental houses on my block have no one living in them cause the health deptment shut them down and condemned them since the flood in June, cause they got sewer backuo and the basement there are dirt I think
There are scary people in most every neighborhood, money can't buy nice people sometimes. I have seen bad and good people hear over the many many years I have lived down here, (since 1987) , but now the neighbors seem very nice.

Im glad everyone has had a interesting long weekend. Seeing family and going places are always such fun. My dad turned 86 yesterday and I made him get up early this morning to take me for a colonoscopy. He didn't mind and Im glad he still drives... not so good anymore! He only had to drive 3 miles but chattered the whole way. I was ready to get there and then go home and sleep. Whew!! Had family party at my sisters house on Sunday. She has a pool. Great time with everyone. Got to see my youngest grandsons, one is 16 months old and the other is 1 month. Precious!! Cant see enough of family and friends!!

Rainy day today and big storm heading our way. Lots of thunder and lightning predicted but usually get one thud and that's it. They lie a lot here about the weather. Going in for an endoscopy today to maybe stretch my esophagus if it has scar tissue build up making it hard for me to swallow meat. Hope your colonoscopy found nothing out of whack gg. Your dad sounds like he is a healthy, happy guy and nice of him to drive you. Happy belated b-day to him

GG I am happy to her your dad can still drive at 86! Hope you two can share many more birthdays together! Sounds like you had fun with family, at your sister's house :)

jW, when did you first notice you had trouble swallowing meat?
Hope it is nothing to serious. :)
Colleen it was way back in 2005 and I went in for an endo then too and the doc said it was caused from acid reflux and I also had a very tiny start of an ulcer at the beginning of my stomach. I took the strong meds they gave me but when they were done I did not go on the steady prilosec stuff as I don't believe they are good for you in the long run. They rob you of all your stomach acid eventually and then you can't digest foods well at all. I should have been taking my enzyme digestive natural aids regularly instead of hit and miss and perhaps that may have prevented possible scarring that they may find built up in my esophagus today. We shall see and think I will go back to my natural enzymes again on a better schedule.

Think I hear low grumbling sounds coming from up above in the clouds. Maybe the storm is on the way........................or could it be the end of the world :biggrinangelA:
