Howard, why are you draining the pond and taking your fish out?
This was supposed to be a 'temporary' pond dug when we moved here 8 years ago. I am feeding a lot of fish I do not want and the dragon fly larvae are way too abundant. Too much mulm and too big to clean with a shop vac.

Also I want the flat pond on the other side of the yard, where yellow pickup is, and the liner in this pond is what I will use for it. So I will be pulling this liner out and putting in the one that will eventually be at this spot.

Lou my hubby, we shall call him Bill...............cuz that is his name, ha ha..........anyways he usually brings the wood to the back slider and then I haul it from the wheel barrow to the log holder by the wood stove cuz I am wayyyyyyyyy neater doing it than he is. Don't want a trail of woody chippy things, dirt and bugs all the way there! Sometimes I do it if he is busy or he forgets. We have this board that we lay up the outside 2 steps and wheel the barrow right up it..............easy peasy!

Speaking of wood, I am supposed to be getting off my butt and meeting him over at the wood place now to throw wood in the truck. He's almost done splitting all the wood so then I will have him as a helper throwing wood in the truck,YAY!

Weather is foggy and cool right now but should warm up later to maybe 72*.................but the rain is coming back on Sunday...............not doing wood in the rain so day of rest!

I need to get on hubby and/or son's asses to get wood split, so I can get it stacked. I'm not physically strong enough to hump 24-36" diameter logs up onto the splitter .. once it gets hot, you cant stack it (going into a greenhouse) ...

Some men are better at certain things than others, but I have to say when it comes to getting our wood stacked, I prefer to do it myself. Hubby and son do it "well" but they get it all into the yard, diced and split, the least I can do is stack it, and honestly, I LIKE stacking wood. It's my own little quiet world. I can just go out into the greenhouse with my ipod and get into a mode and get it done.

Its all about the journey! :) Or maybe getting into the zone

There must be a difference in the wiring. My wife has a class of things she does in what she calls down time. Mostly busy work, by my way of thinking mostly a waste of time. But who am I to judge or argue.

My household is busy and high stress. Not in a bad way, but a simple fact. We run a business and have 3 kids 18 (next month) to 22 ... they are at the stages of moving out/in, out/back in again ... think they are old enough, then reality hits that they still need mom and dad more than they thought ,,, aquired an extra "son" (22 yr old, been friends with our kids for years) who moved in ... never ending ringing phone, employees and wives with drama ... I cant even go get in the hot tub to relax without someone needing SOMETHING ... Dont read any of this as a complaint, it isnt meant that way, but stacking wood is where no one WANTS to be, so it is my QUIET place.

I may be blonde, but I *think* I am at my house LOL. Just a normal day of being a parent and wife ...

Sitting here now try to figure out what the weather is going to do. Had a couple nasty thunder rumbles come through, but no rain:)

I drove through such a downpour, I thought about Addy when she commented about getting "11 inches per hour rain". That's the kind of rain I went through. Good think it only lasted about 10 minutes of my drive home. The interstate could not handle the downpour, never seen anything like it, was hydryplaning a couple of times on the interstate! Was only going 50, too, truckers even going slower than me, which was a shock! Cars and trucks with flashers on so you could see them, but once it stopped, it was done. I got just under an inch of rain. Glad I got mowing done til weekend ...
