I just use the good old dollar store toilet brush .Works great nice and stiff and then rinse it and let the brush lay in the sun and whatever is on there just falls off .

Wire brush works well on rocks, Sissy's idea of toilet brush easier on the pond lining, but I have not had much luck in it grabbing the string algae. I guess mine is tougher. I have better luck in grabbing it and yanking it off with my bare hands. But, maybe that makes it grow faster, kind of like mowing your grass. Not sure. Will see what kind of algae issues I have once this weather decides to get warm and stay that way! Tired of this see saw stuff, cold, warm, cold, warm .... Make up your mind, Mother Nature.

Thought it might snow here but nope, just cold, cold rain!
Pemburu, it seems no matter what thread we are on we always end up talking about something else and doesn't matter that we have a thread for good banter and one for weather, we just stick whatever we want to say in between the lines.............we just can't help ourselves

I use peroxide it is safer for plants and fish .I clean them in water and peroxide and and trim off dead stuff .How about parks or garden centers .I know several big gardens here that sell plants for a dollar or two .But it is cheaper here because of the economy house are dirt cheap .Saw one yesterday a little work needed on 3.02 acres for 15 thousand .
Ok, peroxide...good to know. thanks sissy. The weather is driving me crazy!! It's a great day to be outdoors...AND working around the pond. But I'm getting 'well' instead...

I think since all my plants and grasses are in a combo of kitty litter and crushed oyster shells i see less string algae this year than last year .

Yep, P42S, JW and I typically run out of likes. As Sissy said, if you look at a post already made (don't look while you are posting, as it's not there!!!), there is a blue box on the bottom right of their post that has a check mark and "Like This". if you click on it, the person who created the individual post will get a notification that someone "liked" their post. You find that notification at the top of the page, there is an envelope for mail notification, and a "person" for "like" notifications. If you click on the "person" thingy when it has a notification, it will drop down with what thread and who liked it. Then you can click on that POST, and it will take you directly to the post that someone "liked" that you posted. Make sense? If I'm not still out of likes, I'm going to "like" your last post on here!
Nope, still out of likes, so will try to remember to do it in the morning. I think we get something like 10 or 12 "likes" a day!
