Hey, ICSD, I hope someone identifies that falcon, as I've seen them around my place, too. They like to flow low to the fields, skimming maybe 3-5' above the ground. Really neat to watch them fly. I've never seen one near my bird feeders, but then I only have one tree close by, and it's only about 10' tall oak next to my goldfish pond.
GREAT NEWS Big Lou and Cathy, too! I agree with Sissy, good things happen to good people! So happy to hear your great news!!!
My ponds had a skim of ice this morning, as ICSD mentioned, it was in the 20's last night. Finally sun came out today, though. Going to "pull a Colleen" and try to keep everything running this winter, see how it does when things freeze. I'll watch it closely, and make sure don't have any tragedies! Since I built up the sides of the stream, I'm pretty sure that it should flow under any ice that forms, but we shall see. It will be an experiment year for me. Need to get the umbrella palm pulled out of the bog this weekend, as it's pretty much all dead now. Hoping it will be easier to pull out that thick set of roots now that it's dead, as it was a bugger to dig out a couple of starts of it to keep!
