the flood refreshes the soil, hopefully clears away some junk, and refills the water table. I was out in it today, we floated the pool over closer than it was, but not as far as I wanted to go with it, it just wasn’t cooperating. I saved probably 3 dozen catapillars that were at risk of drowning, and one little jumping spider! Tried to save a ringneck snake, but when I moved it to a safer spot, it went back into the water.

Nice waterfront property tho!
It’s supposed to be our western boundary line, not waterfront! Lol. The river didn’t get quite as high as expected, but there may be more storms coming. It flooded in town, I guess we will find out the damage when we can get out. Our house is in just enough of an incline to avoid the water.

River is dropping. I have a driveway again, sorta. Lots and lots of puddles! I’ll be walking around later to see if I can get out to go to work in the morning, and see if there’s fish stuck out of the river!

raining here, off and on. Want more off than on, the black locust flowers are in full bloom. They are very fragile.

Looks like we will be getting rain. And we may be flooded in longer.

We haven't had too much flooding here, but I went past the Pike River the other day, which is more like a stream in this area, and it was much higher than normal. I assume the recreational path that follows it was flooded in at least a few spots. I wish I could've gotten over there to photograph it.

This is my arroyo, it was about 20 ft above normal there! I shouldn’t see water there when I look out. Most of the time, it’s a wide shallow stagnant or dry creek, but oh boy, it was up this time! Still not all the way down, but I managed to get to work. Road is rough, lots of gravel is washed off, or piled up.
