nice warm and sunny and got about half my honey do list done for winter prep .The siding and gutters all clean and repairs made on a downspout extension ,something chewed a hole in it and had to dig half of it up to replace part of it .

Something always seems to like chewing on stuff around your property. What's up w/that?
Maybe you need to start setting up chew stations w/favorite chewy things for different species of critters

Since they are cutting down trees back behind my house again .I am getting more critters displaced by this .Worries me even more .I have even had more skunks than normal and the smell is not helping anything .Even more deer and rabbits are coming here for protection .I bought more bails of straw for the wooded area to give them a place to hide and stay warm .More water for them also

OMG I love that you're so sweet, and caring towards the wildlife! My husband and I started putting out corn for the deer one year, when the winter was colder than usual and we realized they were eating paper and junk out of the garbage

Nice and sunny here, I think we should stay in the low 70s for a few days, time to clean up the yard!

I have been doing this since I moved here .I bought water troughs at a house sale and put a hydrant on my well out near the woods so I could give them fresh water every day .I get them flavored blocks and deer corn and lots of bird seed and planted crab apple trees one my property and planted pasture grass .I put up signs so no hunter cross into my woods. We are still in the high 70's .

A few days ago we had a wicked wind storm that spawned fires and blew peoples roofs off and downed trees and power lines. That was the worse storm ever and the prairie had fires all over southern Alberta and many farms burned down, towns were evacuated and one local fire fighter lost his life. I was at work that day and the wind just got worse and worse, and the city was half out of power too. The city of Medicine Hat declared a state of emergency and many little fires where popping up all over town, but a rain storm moved in and saved us from turning into something much worse... I never had any damage but just a mess of stuff blown everywhere.

Last night we had a good rain so no risk of fires now.

@callingcolleen1 Sorry all that weather wreaked havoc on your area and killed the fireman. Seems as tho this was a bad year for fires in our state also. Now the rain/wind storms are messing w/us. We have no damage either but today winds and rain are going to be strong and heavier. Might be on the way to you again too as you seem to get a lot of our weather.

Today was sunny and beautiful, I started pulling the Cannas and Dahlias that I'll be winterizing and I'm hoping tomorrow to be just as nice, so we can start laying out where the new pond/greenhouse will go

I hope you all are enjoying your weekend!

Spent the whole day doing my dna matches on ancestry.com looking for more clues as to who my father could have been. I'm zoned out now! Raining, raining and raining some more.
