I believe they are painted turtles. As of today that I am aware of there are now two. Just to the left of the floating log you can see one of them poking its head up above the surface and off to tha left of that one you can see the other swimming away

I ended up draining my main pond. I could not get it to stop leaking. The inside flagstone will be removed then it will get cemented in including two intake bays with flagstone around the top to match. After water proofing the inside flagstone will be replaced.

I was able to save 6 mosquito fish that I have no idea on how they got there. Maybe eggs from the first Lilly plant I bought. They are living the aquarium life for now.

Some might not find the mosquito fish interesting but I do. Mostly because I didn't buy them, they just appeared. They are as fast as lightning and were very hard to catch and save. They are also very shy and the aquarium I have them in has lots of hiding places so I have a hard time even spotting them.

Shhh! I snuck up on them after midnight and got this photo.

I have not tried hyacinth in years, it never did well. This year put in 4 plants, they are exploding and for the first time in the big pond I actually have a bloom. The iris are just sitting in water at the end of the pond. May need to do a purge of some. Getting to be a big clump.

Those purple iris have bloomed here as well.

And those box turtles are more numerous then you may think down there . i'd find one every other day out in the R.O.W
