Fish are just hanging, slow moving but waiting for next week's 70s. We had snow today...sigh. I just WISH that was an April Fools joke...

Yeah, snow here too in SE Michigan. Just flurries though. Where in Michigan are you?
SE MI just like you; near Pontiac. We had about an inch on the ground which melted during the day but flurries were definitely evident. We live in what I call the 'Bloomfield Triangle', you know, like a sister to the Bermuda Triangle? Only here, it's where weather goes missing and I can't really rely on the weather service for accurate snow or rain predictions. Always different from what they tell me.

And you?

Lol
We're in Novi. Nothing sticking to the ground here or in Brighton where I work. Do you have a favorite pond shop or place you like?

When I first started ponding, went often to Grass Roots, off 275 but it's gone downhill, imo. So now, mainly online if I need anything in particular.

(Sorry to hijack this thread. This is my last post on Michigan, promise!)
That's where we go. Our fish are from grass roots. Sometimes to the pond place on M59 in highland. Grass roots has some new stuff this year including a butterfly house etc. They had good plants last year.

That IS new; didn't see evidence last year of that. I looked at their koi when I was just getting into it 3 years ago and their prices + selection isn't anything close to what I can get via auction on ebay. And I used to get plants there but the last few years, every specimen I wanted they didn't have. Went last year to get a white lotus and all they had was a dwarf version which promptly died in a month. It used to be a lot better, imo. I'll check out the butterfly house if I swing past this year.

yeah; was going to pull the tent off the pond last weekend until I saw teens as lows this week. Glad I waited as I ordered more koi and wanted to have the water be a lot closer in temp. The tent helps keep it from swinging so bad. Really looking forward to next week!

My pond dropped 8 degrees , since I have the bog running, a lot of surface area being cooled with our warm 21F this am.

fiinally warming up; under the tent it rose to 80 and the water finally reached 50+ so I fed the lil beggers. Whereas in the morning with water temps at 46, they were still a bit listless, when I went under to do some preliminary cleaning, they began to rise and gave me the hungry eyes face. So of course I just HAD to feed them...
