We are back to a light ice cover which will be gone in about 3 hours. As soon as the sun pops up

@DCPlumber - welcome to the GPF! And what a cool pond!

We had ice on the pond on Friday, and 59 degrees yesterday. I don't think we've had ice cover for more than a week running this winter.

Pond is thawing. Sadly, I found a dead frog on my marginal shelf. Can't get it out of the pond today, but the ice should melt enough for me to remove it tomorrow.

Here's the pond on this incredible day. Frogs have been popping their heads up. Pond is 100% thawed for the first time this spring.

My last Aquascape camera died and the other quit but think the problem is the cable running from the DVR. Not looking to buy 2 new cameras.

Luckily it was just my cable end that went bad, not the camera end but the long one that goes to the DVR.

The good news is that I got my pond going today! However, the voles chewed a hole in my hose for the second year in a row, so this is how my waterfall looks until I feel like sticking my hands in the cold water to replace it. It's an easy enough fix after I rerouted everything last year to make it easier.

Here's the pond today. First spring photo of the year. Still waiting for warmer weather so I can replace my waterfall hose and get the breather out. You can see the Prairie Smoke (at the very bottom of the photo) is growing. I planted it there last year, so I'm hoping to see its first blooms this year. It's an early bloomer and should be blooming in about a month.
