The plants are blooming around the pond and everywhere in the garden, unfortunately the blooms fade shortly after opening under in this heat

seems like nothing is growing here like it did last year except for the weeds .I looked at pics from last year and my banana plants ar half the size and even my cannas and elephant ears are smaller ,not even a quarter of the height .Not sure what is going on but they have been fertilized and still nothing

My gardens are slow this year, too. We had a long, drawn out spring here in the midwest... very cool well into June. And now we're needing rain. We had torrential rainfall three weeks ago and nothing since. But that's the fun of gardening - it's never the same thing two years in a row!

Everything slow here as well and I have yet to see a butterfly in my butterfly garden!
Addy- Love your daylilies! I just got a flyer from Brecks for their daylily collection. I may have to order some. Had them years ago but got rid of most.

@j.w if you mean the pink, totally faded, sad looking plant I just posted this morning, that's a Canna Lily Cannova Rose to be exact....it blooms very early and non stop until frost, and it puts out new branches at the speed of light, so it does need a large pot with room to grow

I save some of my plants, I have hundreds between Cannas, Dahlias, Caladiums etc so no room to save them all. I do give some away in Spring, if you're interested just let me know :)

Thanks and I do love all the beautiful one's that are not hardy here and I used to save them also. I gave up on that tho as it got to be too much work. Now I am an only what survives outside in winter gardener. Well except I did save 3 Cordyline that I bought at Walmart many yrs ago. They are not even that pretty but I feel sorry for them. I wheel them in every winter to the garage. That's it tho!

Wow Addy your flowers must be on steriods! Ha ha
The lilies in the hot tub are doing a lot better than the lilies in the big pond. I think the bog and pond plants suck a lot of nutrients out of the big pond, leaving less for the lilies. The hot tub pond has less nutrient sucking plants. The water is almost crystal clear, not as clear as the big pond.

Addy- Love your daylilies!
I planted a ton years ago, very bad about thinning, they just grow and bloom. Probably good I don't groom the deer snack on a lot of the buds, but enough survive for me to enjoy. The flowers are huge.
