This lotus is a miniature one that took over one of my loop ponds. The lilies are in a different pond. Playing with my new phone camera

Monarch caterpillar chomping on milkweed at the edge of my pond.

In fact, I've got a lot of Monarch Caterpillars right now.

I've also got tons of Large Milkweed Bugs. It's good to see I'm helping them out as well, but it also means I'll be lucky to get any milkweed seeds this year.

This year, I began transforming my pond area into a native garden. It's not there yet, but I'd say about 85% of the plants around my pond are native, and even some of the plants in my pond and bog are native. This fall I'll be making more adjustments and will continue adding more natives next year.

Too lazy to upload pic, but pond looks fantastic. I still run a carbon pad even tho the carbons been gone for a few years it still has a finer mesh than just the single open cell pad and the results are crystal clear. Temps have been coming down last few days, especially at night. Ran out of Tetra sticks a couple weeks ago so they've been dieting, bought them some premium Tetra sticks yesterday...$4 more than 'regular' pond sticks, and some blood worms, spoiled brats, they'll be dieting for a while longer.
