green and growing and wondering about winter and what it will bring me first was taken under the bridge .I love the combo of black and green and purple .Elephant ears sure did not get as big as years before

Truy that national geograohic stuff after aggie jump out of the pond when a toad scared her i put her in the stock tank with it because she landed on the cement and scrapped her belly and sides on the rough surface .This is her in the stock tank .She looks all healed but i am going to give it another couple of days .i know she is mad at me but oh well .It smells like eucalyptus.She has 2 bumps on her that i am not sure of but they have gotten smaller and i think it was just stress

My Mexican Sunflowers are in full bloom. Last year, you may or may not remember I had them in near the pond, but they got so big I decided this year to put them outside the fence. I still get to enjoy their look, but they aren't in the way. They also act as a natural fence to help block the neighbor's yard. Last year, I was amazed at how many hummingbirds were attracted to them. This year has been the same way. I've seen at least three hummers today, each have been here a few times.

This particular one was acting a little odd. May be something wrong with it. Maybe it's the heat, I don't know. It was slow, and landing on every flower, rather than hovering by them. That did allow me to get a few photos, though. It stayed about a half hour before flying to the neighbor's tree.
