Oh my heavens! He sent us a little video of them in their new qt pond with a couple of his fish. They didn't miss a beat, swimming actively and eating ! I told him how picky they are and they made a liar out of me...... eating his food- LOL !

They could have at least moped for a day or two - LOL !

Their new temporary qt pond is almost double the size of our pond. It has a lot of water flow and a pergola over it. I am completely relieved.

Yes, I'll share the video. I have to upload it to YouTube I believe. In addition to the fry he caught we'd caught over 200 !!!!!!!!! I think the success of the floating planters made perfect fry nurseries .

I'll be back later today and will upload the video....I also have another video of one of his bigger mud ponds I'll upload.

Hopefully I did this correctly. This is the pond he's quarantining them in, along with several of his fish. The dimensions of this pond are 8 feet wide, 21 feet long and 32 inches deep. Not sure exactly how many gallons that is, but it seems larger then our 1700 gallon pond.

I know, he's all around nice human being .

After we emptied the pond, I was dismayed to see my lack of attention to it this summer showed. All in all, a good decision all around

Hi Tula. Just catching up on your thread now. I’m sure the process was difficult but it seems like you have carefully thought it through and made some very good decisions. So I have a question … would you consider just having a small number of goldfish that would be easy to care for? I am about the same age as you and have two 2 year old granddaughters and a 4 year old grandson. When they visit us they love helping Papa feed the fish and is something they really look forward to!
